Default RIP: Comedian Mike McDonald Dies

Dies suddenly due to heart complications.

This one saddens me quite a bit. I met him a few times and he was quite a character. He also just recently recovered from a liver transplant and seemed to be doing quite well.

RIP good sir.

I was just thinking about him on Friday and watched some of his stuff on youtube. It feels like just a few years ago that I was watching the JFL stuff on Comedy Network and almost every episode they aired from the 90s finished or started with Mike McDonald. He was truly hilarious and probably the first head on Canadian Stand-up Mt Rushmore. I think he was just on the WTF podcast too.

What a strange and awful coincidence.

Saw him a few years ago at Inglewood Festival Hall. Sure glad I did.

When I worked for a computer company in the 90's they did a corporate retreat in Ontario every year and would bring in a lot of talent.

In the first year they bought in Tom Cochrane and a hypnotist.

the next year it was Colin James, who I'm a huge fan of, so I became a babbling idiot when I got to sit at a table with him and have a chat after buying him a couple of drinks. but Mike McDonald came out on comedy night and had us in absolute stitches.

RIP
