What? If he’s healthy and good to play why wouldn’t they play him?

I hope like hell Glen Gulutzan is nowhere near this team next year. I hope that they can bring someone in that can undo some of the damage that Gulutzan and Cameron have caused to the psyche of this team. I want to see a team next year that doesn’t look like they have to think about each play they make, a team that is functioning on their natural hockey instincts.

Shut down the season even. Give away 2 points to everyone. Save the home fans some money, and save the rest of us some anguish.

I dunno, man. There’s a considerable chance Treliving is *that* stubborn.
I sure wouldn’t bet my house on it.

But I would shut Tkachuk down for the year, no need to risk a head injury on this tire fire, Flames will be more or less mathematically eliminated by the end of the 2 game trip he is missing, no other perennial non-playoff team would risk injury to one of their top young players when they are out of the running.

Oh I can think of one......

Gotta agree with this as painful as it sounds. Kept him all season, who knows if he will be fired. If he isn’t, I’d be very dissapointed but not surprised.

Who are they going to replace him with? Serious question.

He's lost the room.
He needs to be removed from the team at that point, full stop.

In the summer there will be a plethora of options....during the season there weren't.
Trotz may be available depending on Washingtons playoffs. Quenneville could be out there...though doubtful. Hitchcock, Vigneault, Bill Peters.....plus any of the hundreds of asst coaches who cannot be signed during the season.

I was thinking this as well for a while and frankly I think the only reason hes still employed is because of the lack of viable alternatives.
But think of it this way:
People are saying that coaching is either unimportant or marginal at best. But if we make or miss the playoffs it will be by the slimmest of margins.
So. Did our coach acquire points for us by being astute? Or did he cost us points by being inept?
Remember, the margins are slim. But if there was a poll my vote would be thoroughly in the:
'Glen Gulutzan and his refusal and inability to adapt has cost us more points than his stubbornness and amazing system has earned us' Camp.

If I had any say, I would back that truck up to Joel Quenneville's house and dump as much money on him and his loved as he wanted.

Damn, sounds like Tkachuk is pretty much gone for the remainder of the season. Bummer.

You still need someone to replace him with -- unless you're suggesting the player coach themselves...
