Brodie gets buried by Reaves at 3:47 of the 2nd period.

He is back out to kill a PP at 5:02 of the period that lasts until the Knights score to make it 1-0. He plays another 4 shifts before he is shut down.

What sort of concussion protocol would let Brodie play after taking that hit?

If that hit gave Brodie a concussion who would be responsible for playing a vulnerable player?

I’m honestly out of answers.

Bad luck, bad aim, snake bit, too young, weak mentally, or Hockey God’s feverishly evening the account for the 2014-15 season are all possible answers.
How about "quality of chances not as great as the numbers suggest when everything is so cycle-oriented"?

Huh what?

Here's about it, more or less (in no particular order). And I'm sure it's most everything on the list, but it's most of it.

-the dearth of talent on a roster grossly over-rated by many, including the GM.
-a magical belief that Bennett would not suck this year, when there was no basis for this belief, except magic.
-The bottom six is the worst in the league.
-The coaching staff sucks

Slow methodical attack generally results in a penetration into the high-danger area, however because of the slow pace of the attack the defending team is well fortified, rather than caught flat-footed, and while the ensuing "scoring chance" is getting registered as a "high danger chance" the actual degree of danger is not all that high.

Yeah, not all chances are equal.

There's been very few times per game this season that I feel the goaltender had to make an incredible save. Either the shot misses the net, doesn't have good power, too much defensive interference, or the goalie was set up well to make it a routine save. The latter two I feel is mostly because of the system in play. It moves too slowly and allows the opposing team to be prepared and read the plays. There's been very few quick strike, unharassed high quality scoring chances.
