Also interestingly enough, albeit due to a ton of OT loses instead of wins. Their projections based on points per game from their first 45 games, is now just under 90 points.

God, I hate the SJ Sharks so much. I can't wait for the Flames to pound these guys in their next two games.
Today's result is quite good, and it looks to me at this early stage like there is a good chance the Flames would most likely face off against one of either the Sharks or the Kings in the playoffs in round 1, if they all make it. Both of these are great matchups for Calgary.

Thornton scores the empty net goal, 4-1 Sharks final score and the Kings are on a four game losing streak.

The west is really tightening up. My attempt at math says that 97 is the projected playoff line. Whereas in the East, after a year of chest thumping over being the new alpha conference, look once again to be the league's doormat.

Flipped on the TV. Turned to Sportsnet. Start watching Dallas-Boston. Come to CP. See this game happened this afternoon. Felt shame.

My dad did the same thing since he's a Bruins fan and after I told him the game was already over and he saw the final score on the ticker he wasn't too impressed.

I would say it was a decent day outside of Dallas winning.

Really? I've always been kind of indifferent to the Sharks. The only time I ever truly disliked them was when we faced them in the playoffs.
Now the Ducks on the other hand, I freakin' hate those scumbags even more than I hate the Oilers. I swear that team must hold the modern NHL record for most d-bags on one roster (whiny b**** Getzlaf included). The Ducks missing the playoffs would be the ultimate gift from the hockey gods.

3 more points for Barzal. Boeser needs to step his game up if he wants to win the Calder. Two really good young players.

Barzal was terrific in the game and was all over the place against the Habs. Tavares also played very well, he scored a shorthanded goal and then the overtime winner off a rebound from Thomas Hickey's shot. The Habs did battle back from a 2-0 and 4-2 deficits and tied it up each time. Pacioretty gets a rare goal, this one on the power play.

$10.5M per year until 2025!
I've noticed a lot of people putting Price as the starter on a hypothetical Olympic team. If NHLers were going to Korea there is no way I would want Price as the starting goalie.

I think this is my problem: the Sharks are just so, so vanilla—especially now that Marleau has moved on, Thornton is an old man, and they continue to quietly, inexplicably keep pace in the regular season only to fall flat in the playoffs. It's just irritating.
My feelings are enflamed by two losses to them this season in games that the Flames absolutely should have won. Again, it is all just extremely irritating.
I am right there with you insofar as Anaheim and the Oilers are concerned, but I also really hate the Sharks.
... and the Jets. God, I hate the Jets.
... ... and the Canadiens. So awful. And the Lightning...
... and also the Canucks, and the Wild, and the Kings — ewwwww ... and a bunch of other teams.

Solid points. Can't argue with any of that.

Honestly, after the start they had I dont want them to bank on help from anyone.
Make it on your own merits. Which they've been doing admirably recently.

So, are the Kings crashing back down to earth or are they just stumbling? They are losing very crucial games right now. It would be so lovely for them to fall out of the playoffs again.
