I almost forgot this cover by the little Aussie band Frente! (yes the exclamation point is part of their name). They took what was already a great song by New Order and gave it a lot more emotion and gravitas.

Here are a few old covers that I have on my Favorites Playlist:
Oi Skall Mates (Japanese Ska band) cover the Drifters' I Count the Tears
Petula Clark's french cover of the Searchers' Needles and Pins
Toots and The Maytals cover John Denver's Country Roads
Adriano Celentano's Italian cover of Ben E. Kings' Stand By Me
(and I am sure that Steve Martin and Dan Aykroyd based their "wild and crazy guys" on his performance in this video)
Shonen Knife covers Paul McCartney and Wings' Jet
and finally Me First and the Gimme Gimmes cover The Beatles' All My Loving
This is more of an informal cover, at a small charity event, country star Sara Evans with a tribute to the late Donna Summers.
Evan’s is hot - although 41 at the time - and it’s fun watching a great talent creating something out of thin air with some of her guys just for her personal amusement. Keep watching after she stops the first time.
