Default Brian Williams announces retirement after 50 years in broadcasting

Just an incredible career spanning a variety of sports - Probably best known for his work as Olympics host. He also was very prominent with the CFL when CBC was broadcasting games. Enjoy retirement Brian!

“As I look back on my career, what’s most meaningful is that I have had the privilege of working with so many wonderful and talented people on both radio and television,” said Williams. “Over the course of the last 50 years, I’ve been fortunate to cover so many great athletes and amazing events, both at home and abroad. I’d like to express my sincere thanks to all.”

Great career. He's been synonymous with the Olympics.

50 years to be working in an industry is an accomplishment. About 20 years ago he seemed to transition to just Olympics, and now just seems synonymous with it. Hope he enjoys retirement. For all we complain about the CBC, they have had some very talented icons over the years.
