This was always going to be a rebuilding year. They're trying different things out to see what can work, but more importantly who has the skill to be on the team over the next couple years. I think fans got their expectations up early on when they did alright against decent teams. In the NBA what's on paper matters. This teams' skill isn't where it needs to be. One dimensional bench players all over, and that's fine in a year like this - just don't expect, guys like Banton, Watanabe, Boucher, and on, to be anywhere close to starting on a championship roster.

Yeah, as long as the effort level is there (which it is most nights) I can ignore the W/L record for the season. I think the pressing question is whether Siakam/Barnes/Anunoby can work together as a lineup. They need to decide if that's really the direction to go in if not by the trade deadline, at least by the offseason.

Although I've been encouraged by the passing between Siakam and Barnes the last couple games... the last 2 games there have been nine Siakam->Barnes/Barnes->Siakam assists.

So the Thunder are flirting with an 80 point loss right now. You did not read that wrong, currently down 148-72.

Edit: Not quite, but an NBA record 73 point loss it is.

Barnes is 10/23 from three in the last three games. His development continues to be very impressive.

That was a solid win for the Raptors, even accounting for the injuries on both sides.

That said, that foul on the Middleton's 3 point shot is textbook of what they aren't supposed to call this year. The NBA's twitter video showing the new rules called out Middleton for doing exactly this, yet he still gets the call!

And... the NBA backs it up as the correct call in their L2M report.

Big win without the services of OG, Birch, Precious and an offensively struggling Siakam tonight (3-18 from the field) as well as the big boss out with Covid-19.
