I don't remember video quality being so poor pre-HD. Did we really watch the games like this? I can't even fathom it.

Forgot that Loubardious did one year, or part of one year, doing Oilers broadcasts for Snet.

AC .....awesome. Yeah Nolan was a beast. You could tell his team mates loved the guy.

I miss his fire. I look forward to watching Tkachuk even more in the future because I think we've yet to see Matthew switch into absolute beast mode.....most of the time I think he's set to stun but come playoffs he'll be a killer. Mwah ha ha ha!!!

Flames went 0-3 in Chicago in that series.

Those were some tough years to be a flames fan.

Who am I kidding, they are all tough.

AC's videos make them easier.

These type of plays don't show up in highlight reels but Nolan was the BEST winger along the boards in his own end.

When the puck was rimmed or pushed up to his wing, he would always make the play to get the puck out - either he would bump it to a teammate who could skate it out clean or if there was no play to be made he always chipped it out. He always made the best plays along the wall in his end - better than Iggy ever did.

The Flames always broke out clean if the puck went to Nolan's wing- he was big enough to hold off any sized dman pinching down on him or had the great hands to hit his guys in stride with a pass.

It was an art and he put on a master class every game

Man I think this was my favourite team of that era. I mean loved the Cinderella cup run kids but honestly. I was so stoked to sign Nolan and I loved how much skill and grit this team had Iggy, Connie, Langkow, Tanguay, Juice, Lombardi, Nystrom, Aucoin, Reggie, and Kipper! What is not to love there. I have a Dustin Boyd jersey for christ sake.

AC always epic video but man it seems crazy video quality was so much worse just 10 short years ago. Man that San Jose series is still a kick in the gut. I really thought that team or the following years team legit could have won a cup. Injuries and bad luck I suppose. Also my god was Nolan an ass hole. What a treat

Thanks for the video AC! Being an Irish boy myself, Nolan was one of my all-time faves...

If anyone has a Nolan Flames Jersey they’re looking to get rid of, I’d be happy to make a deal for it.

AC, is it possible to make a Phaneuf video? Not sure which season unless it's just his entire tenure

I don't think the quality was that poor on TV. I believe it has something to do with how they were converted from the TV to the internet, but I could be wrong on that.

Maybe someone with more knowledge on this subject can chime in.

Great work as always AC!

They originally signed him after he was essentially bought out by Toronto (and after a year in AZ), so the math worked for both sides. I think he wanted more than he was worth after that. He signed for something like $2.75M in Minnie. In 2008 that was a fairly big contract for a guy his age (37-39 for the life of it)

Unfortunately my archives only go back to 07/08 really.

Probably not... I kinda hate him and get the feeling most Flames fans do as well. I'm still planning on re-doing my Langkow videos that I lost when my first YouTube account was closed.
