With Backlund’s assist sneaks past Nilsson into sole possession of 9th for Calgary Flames points

At least Huberdeau looked more engaged that period, so that's good.
Still don't think he and Kadri mesh together at all. Like forcing puzzle pieces together that just won't fit.

Hrudey: "the message will be straightforward in the intermission. You gotta keep it a little more simple."
Any simpler and I think they cease playing a game called hockey. That was a pretty bad period by both teams. Nothing happened.

Yep, it also looked like Huberdeau kind of looked upwards after not getting that pass. Kadri is not a good center for him.

Damn, those late period goals are back breakers. Detroit isn’t the easy out they used to be - this is going to be a tough game for us.

Was watching Dustin Wolf highlights earlier. Noticed Wranglers actually have a captain... then noticed it was Darryl Sutter's son, Brett.
So... update on the captaincy requirements... have to be in the 23-28 range, as well as great on the ice / in the dressing room / in the community, and be able to handle the pressure of wearing the C... orrrrr just being a Sutter works too.

Would have been nice going into the break with the lead. Overall I thought we had some quality chances but expecting both teams to be better in the second. Hope we come out strong and can grab the lead again within the first five minutes.

Can’t play Sutter hockey with Stone as a regular. There is a reason nobody wants him
Time to get that 6th-7th dman before it’s too late

Yeah maybe. But the 6th/7th D won't be the difference between them getting in and being on the outside

Mentioned before, but I think Sutter needs to switch Kadri and Lindholm, and see if Lind can fit well with Huby and Pelts.

Sutter isn’t the coach of the Wranglers.

To get into the POs I'm going to say we need a 5 on 5 goal from fhe Huby line every other game
1st and 3rd lines are doing their jobs. Need that 1 extra goal from somewhere else

Brett Sutter is in his 10th full season as a captain of a professional hockey team.
He is full marks for it.

Brett Sutter has over 1000 games in the AHL and was the captain for Ontario the last 5 years as well. He was previously the Charlotte captain, as well as Red Deer in the WHL.
He's certainly a deserving captain, regardless of his last name.

That would be 40 5v5 goals for that line per season.
Or 13 per player.
I would hope that is doable.

That was a ####ing dive.
Yup, on replay it was even worse.
And of course they score on it.
