Just started watching the Rebels v Hitmen game on Sportsnet. The announcer said that Calagary is -72 on the season for PP chances compared to PK. That almost seems impossible.

Looking to go watch the hitmen v canes game at the dome tomorrow, can you just buy tickets when you get to the dome or do you have to buy them on ticketmaster?

Go canes

Yikes.

Kelowna has lost 5 in a row, they are 2-8-0 in their last 10, have a 23-25-3 record and are -34 in goal differential.

I can't remember off the top of my head a Memorial Cup host having such a weak team and you certainly wouldn't have expected it from such a usually well run organization like the Rockets.

Not gonna lie though, as a die hard Cane-iac I'm smiling a little seeing as how they won the bid over the Canes who have surprisingly iced a top 5ish WHL team through thick and thin so far this season.

Kelowna has one regulation win in their last 25 games.

Kelowna is having a season from hell. They've had horrific long-term injuries to top players, their coach is in over his head and they've been playing affiliate players all year (and many players playing out of position).

Pretty much everything that could possibly go wrong has.

A change behind the bench could be the spark, a cardboard cutout would do a better job than Adam Foote. But simply getting their top guys back from injury would do wonders and word is all but two players (Liam Kindree and Sean Comrie) will return by this upcoming weekend so you'll probably get a better idea of where the Rockets really stand after that.

Not surprising that some around the league would experience schadenfreude at this. Kelowna has been the 2nd best organization in the CHL the past two decades (and best in the WHL), it's like the the rest of the NFL being happy when the Patriots lose. Completely understood. Enjoy it while you can; there is a golden generation of young prospects drafted out of bantam in 2018 and 2019 that will probably have the Rockets back as contenders in the next few years again. Even the London Knights had an awful Memorial Cup performance the year they hosted in 2014 but they bounced back.

A bit strange though considering Lethbridge was never a serious candidate to host. It was BC's turn, Lethbridge seemed headed for a rebuild and honestly who wants to spend the May long weekend there over the Okanagan? Anholt runs a solid program though and he'll get another opportunity to bid again when it's actually Alberta's turn.

In the meantime, perhaps a finally-healthy Rockets team will gel a bit and surprise some down the stretch. There's tickets still available for the Memorial Cup. Grab yours and enjoy a week on the lake

Does anyone know where a person can find out what a team has for bantam draft picks in upcoming years?

It's crazy to look at the standings with Portland and Edmonton clearly the cream of the crop, then you look at their rosters and realize that both teams are really young and will probably only be even better next year. Teams with .780 and .750 win percentages that should be better next year....yikes.

lol

Still can't believe he fired his coach last year and replaced him with Foote in the first place. Huge misstep.

Regina was fairly pedestrian three years ago - finished 3rd in their division and lost in the first round. But even so, they were still 40-25-7 and made the final of the Memorial Cup.

Somebody woke up the sleeping giants, they now won 10 straight on an 11-0-1 run and last night they scored 4 unanswered in the 3rd to beat the Hitmen 6-5.

The Hitmen are sporting a .615 win percentage but are 4th in the division. Only 4 points back of the Tigers for 3rd though, would have been 2 points but for last nights game. They are hanging in there despite losing Zamula. Im sure theyd like to get 3rd or even 2nd in the division and face med hat or lethbridge in round 1 rather than have to drive back and forth between calgary and PA or Brandon or Winnipeg.

Interesting how things work out. They blew that big lead last night after coming back from 5-1 in Kelowna last Monday.

As for the playoffs, its tough because they don't really play well vs the division so in a lot of ways I think they would rather face Brandon or Winnipeg but that would likely set up the Oil Kings in round 2.

If I was the Hitmen I'd love to face the Canes in round 1. Short little drive, pretty young inexperienced team, plus they took them out in last years playoffs.

Just looking at the remaining schedules for MH, CGY and Lethbridge, I'm going to say the Tigers will probably pass the Canes for 2nd in the division. Their remaining schedule by far the easiest plus in the head to head matchups they have really had the Canes number this season.

The Hitmen schedule is also tough and they have to make up 8 points in 12 games to catch Lethbridge.

Well, the Hitmen are now tied with med hat in points for 3rd place and only 4 points behind the Canes for 2nd with one more game played than both.

The only real certainty right now is the OKs will get 1st and the other 3 will be in a dog fight jockeying for the next 3 spots. Going to be a crazy finish it looks like.

Rockets look like a completely different team with Foote gone (not surprisingly).

They're playing hard and fast and are now 5-1-2 after a win over a pretty good team in Lethbridge. They also played neck and neck with the top team in the league in Everett in a OT loss and are doing all of this without two of their top forwards so it bodes well for the Memorial Cup.

Speaking of Lethbridge...not sure about Kisio's tactics. That's a pretty fast team with some high end skilled guys in Cozens and Addison yet they're employing a very passive forecheck and are dumping and chasing on zone entries rather than trying to create off the rush. A bit strange to see. Also Tetachuk sucks and that team will go nowhere in the playoffs if he's the guy.
