Pittsburgh Kanes Patrick out of town
In a deal that has likely been discussed 30 times over the last month, the Pens and Habs finally put the finishing touches on a deal sending Patrick to Montreal.
Players/Picks from: Montreal Canadiens
1. Martinez, Alec (D) NHL
2. Tatar, Tomas (LW) NHL
3. Reichel, Lukas (LW) ECHL
4. Peterson, Dylan (C) ECHL
Players/Picks from: Pittsburgh Penguins
1. Kane, Patrick (LW) NHL

Kane is a beauty. If you can land him then you do what you have to.
Also, I agree, The Scorpion could have beaten this.

It’s no secret that Patty Kane is a personal favourite of mine. One of the worst mistakes I’ve made in the league is trading him for Bobby Ryan back in my Pen days. It took me forever to get him back.
Tatar is a guy I was hoping to keep and I think is underrated by a lot of people. I was hesitant to move prospects from the 2020 draft until after they are selected. Peterson and Reichel are both guys I was high on heading in and it will be interesting to see where they fall.
Hopefully Kane will fit on the top line with Huberdeau and Dubois.

Nobody with top talent moving to the Pens.
Some decent pieces but IMO with a guy like Kane, a blue chip guy should be moving.
Clear win by Habs.
Great to see a big trade go down though!

It's always "too low", "would've paid more", yet no offers.
That being said it's too low and I would've paid more, but didn't make an offer.

I don't want Kane, I wouldn't have paid more
Clear winners not the Canes but Kane regardless

Nothing against Kane, he just brings a winning culture that is like a cancer and is too hard to uproot from an organization without a complete overall

I do think the Habs win this deal, but don't think it's the biggest blowout we've seen.
Tatar was on pace for 70+ points and might be the NHL Habs best producing forward
Martinez is a top 4 dman with experience
Reichel is a low 1st/high 2nd pick, and Peterson should be a 2nd rounder.
