Is this a self-made speaker?

No. I wish, though.

It is a Reynolds Advance A2 from the early 80s and I'm the original owner. They were the first speakers I bought when I was in high school. The speaker below it in the picture is a Boston A150 that I purchased a few years later, but I couldn't let the Reynolds go. They are nice speakers.

I have a bit of a soft spot for older speakers myself. Just finished completely refurbishing a pair of Bozak speakers made in 1959. Took me almost 6 months...

Nice. Did you maintain any type of blog detailing your progress? That would be a great read. Pics?

Excellent shot of the white owl! Every feather is clear. You nailed the focus on this one.

Still waiting for my first owl shot opportunity...

All the owls are from random drives around. They're fairly easy to spot...if you're looking for them.

I'm a very green photographer, but I've always been the first to spot things!

So all I've been doing is picking random country roads with little traffic where you can drive slow and keep your eyes peeled. I look for anything that sticks out slightly in the leafless brush. Most wildlife are more active, or at least visible in this weather too. I learned from an experienced photographer friend the other day to look far ahead up the road on top of power poles for Snowy Owls. It's easy to miss them when you're looking down lower. The one I took above is the first Snowy I've seen for many years, but that same day we saw 4 different ones.

I went out today for a few hours. No owls, but lots of deer, coyotes, and hawks of course. Saw a couple moose again as well.

I've got lots of decent wildlife shots - birds, bears, fish etc. Have been photographing since I was seven - starting with film cameras, darkroom equipment etc... For some reason, I just cannot get any luck finding owls...

Captain, try driving the Grand Valley Road (west of Cochrane on the 1A, turns north). I've seen lots up that way. You've got to go quite a ways up that road though and follow it from pavement to dirt. It meanders a bit but it's a pretty drive.

Saw a small owl this past week on the 564 that runs east/west just north of Strathmore. Last year, most people I spoke with were having the most luck finding the Snowys east of the city.

Thanks, Minnie. The thing is, I do drive country roads quite a bit and have my camera with me often. Here, this guy goes on a random walk and gets three different owls! Envy...

Try driving at night more. They have a fantastic knack for finding windshields.

FYP .

The Snowys we saw the other day were in the Strathmore area as well. We might head out that way again shortly.
