Flyers' Oskar Lindblom diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma (bone/tissue cancer)
Out for the remainder of the season.
https://twitter.com/user/status/1205599966317752321
Huge loss for the Flyers as Lindblom was having a breakout season with 11 goals and 18 points in 30 games. He's only 23.
Obviously, health is the highest priority over hockey right now.

That's terrible.
One of my sister's friends had that type of cancer and died from it. He lasted longer than they initially thought he would, but after being diagnosed, the rest of his life was pretty much non-stop treatments. He was sick the whole time.

Five-year survival rate of 70% and apparently it's really rough. Very rare too. God I hope they caught it early. This is so sad but I believe in Oskar. Hoping for the best.

####. Ewing's is not a great type to get, mostly because it doesn't show up right away and can often metastasize quickly due to the location and tissue type of origin. Treatments are difficult. I wish him all the best. It's not going to be pretty.

Talented player with a great career ahead of him, I hope he kicks cancer’s ass.
On the positive, isn’t the University of Pennsylvania one of the top cancer research institutes there are? He’s likely in very good hands and I’m hoping it was caught really early. All the best to him and his family.

I went to Wednesday’s Flyers/Avs game with 2 coworkers that are huge Philly fans. Unbeknownst to any of the Flyers fans, Oskar was not in the lineup and the team must have heard the news... you could imagine how difficult it would be to concentrate on a hockey game with hearing this devastating news about your teammate.
University of Pennsylvania Medical Center has a great reputation, so hopefully they can save his life.

Being a professional athlete you gotta think that his health and body is monitored really closely, and in such a way that they may have caught this one early. I sincerely hope that is the case, and that Lindblom beats the crap out of cancer. Terrible, terrible news.
