Default Cross-Border Tax Accountant Recommendation

I’m looking for a cross border tax accountant to file Canadian and US taxes this year.

Does anyone have any experience with a cross-border tax accountant?

Do you do this personally, or are you recommending someone else? I get asked for this fairly regularly.

My dad uses Moodys Gartner Tax Law. Really exceptional knowledge and tons of experience in cross-border. He raves about them as much as you would about an accountant, I guess.

I worked with this person at Deloitte back in the day and she started her own cross-border company. Ended up sending her a few clients (as she was much cheaper than we could offer at Deloitte) and heard good things. She was very personable when I worked with her, so I'd expect that nothing has changed.

If moving to the USA this year, when would you recommend reaching out to a cross-border accountant? Early next year? Sooner?

I would reach out sooner because if you plan on becoming a non-resident there are a few things that you should take care of (liquidating TFSAs for example).

According to the website, it seems like she's only accepting new clients through referral.

Sent you both a PM
