Sources: Kobe Bryant was on his way to a travel basketball game with his daughter Gianna when the helicopter crashed. Those aboard the helicopter also included another player and parent.

Last night Victor Oladipo returned to the court for the Pacers after missing an entire calendar year due to injury. Raps fans may remember he collapsed on the floor after tearing his quadriceps tendon (crazy...never heard of someone doing that before). He had a long and tough recovery. In his first game back he played pretty decently, but was on the floor with time running out and down by 3...(skip to 1:48)
Nice story...but it's the interview after the game that's absolutely devastating.
Damn onions.

Out of any of the long-term injuries to star players (and there have been a lot recently), there's nobody I'm rooting for harder than Oladipo. Hope he gets back to 100%. Hard-working, sincere guy who was just hitting his prime when that happened. While Raptors will always be the team I'll be rooting for to come out of the East, Oladipo leading the Pacers to a finals appearance isn't outside the realm of possibility and would be a great story.
I watched most of the game and don't recall anything happening. He was on fire though, so I wonder if it was on one of his driving dunks. There were a couple missed contact fouls on those and unless there was something else, I'd guess it happened on one of those plays.

There was one time that FVV stumbled into him on a botched offensive play, and Powell was holding his finger and grimacing after that, so I think it was there.
Awesome day for Davis II, he seems like such a likeable guy, he's obviously got a lot of pride but also is eager to acknowledge everyone around him that is making things possible for him.
