One of the greatest directors of all time, of course I remember him most as directing Superman: The Movie. He also directed The Omen and Lethal Weapon and Goonies.
The first thing I thought of was the Lethal Weapon series when I read the thread title but for sure, his take on Superman is the one that all the rest aspire to. Just a brilliant job.
Goonies is such a great movie, especially if you watched it when you were in the age group it was geared towards. Every kid wanted to be a Goonie. It’s probably the film that launched Sean Astin and James Brolin into their incredibly successful careers.
He made some really great flicks. Just a really good and versatile director.

Superman (I & II) are excellent. Still the best representation of Superman we've had. Goonies is the pinnacle of kid's adventure movies. Lethal Weapon is top 3 buddy cop franchises of all time.

Maverick is also an underrated comedy western.
He had a cameo in it as a dealer and got stuck in his chair when he tried to shake Gibsons hand.
And second that Maverick was really under rated.

What should be considered one of the best fantasy movies of all time, Ladyhawke. If it wasn't for the horrible electronic score, this would be near the top of my list for Donner movies.
