Based on how many cars from the south (both SE and SW) take Mcleod Trail or Deerfoot and Glenmore to get to the North and/or West I'm hopeful it will help a lot.

Freaking right. I will be one of the main benefactor WHEN/IF the Glenmore to COP portion of the ring road is built as I travel from Signal Hill to Panorama area regularly.

Why can't the government just complete the whole thing all at this time??

Short answer- not enough money; and the only reason the south portion is still being done is the deal with the Tsuu Tina says the Province has a fixed amount of time to complete the road. (Or else the land goes back to the Tsuu Tina.)

It should help immensely. All those people who live in the SW area south of the reservoir won't have to turn onto the bottle neck that is 14th street, then head west on Glenmore. They can all head west towards the RR access via 90th ave and Southland (and possibly Anderson?). That alone should alleviate a huge portion of traffic.

Even coming from where I live in McKenzie in the SE, if I want to head to the NW I won't have to take Deerfoot to Glenmore anymore. Can just head there via the RR. Will it be faster? Hard to say as it very well might be the same amount of time. But less busy and less stressful? Definitely.

Maybe I'm just super optimistic, but I think this might be one of the most positive overall impacting road construction projects in Calgary's history.

Can anyone tell me if the road connecting Anderson and the Grey Eagle Casino through the Tsuu Tina still open to the public? Thanks

Definately NOT. When was it ever? I work on then reserve occasionally and have been pulled over multiple times asking what my business is on the reserve and had to provide an address as proof of where I was heading to work.
If you don't provide proof they can impound your car and charge you with trespassing as I have been told.

That ship sailed years ago. There was a time when I would use it regularly, and if I got pulled over, depending on which direction I was going, I would say I was either going to the gas station or the casino, but about 7-8 years ago, they told me that they were going to start enforcing it, so I stopped. A couple of months later a friend told me he got pulled over and received a mandatory court appearance, and then got dinged with a ~$500 fine.

Agreed. Commute from the far NW to Chinook area and I want to slit my wrists every day on the drive. It will get worse when construction kicks in and I'm predicting it will not improve when the new RR opens as Sarcee will become the new choke point.

Yeah that's long gone, as others have said. That used to be my own private ring road. Never had an issue driving it for years, until they started enforcing it and my buddy got a huge fine.
