Monte Cristo to the end. Man, I miss having those with a Pilsner at the Alcove for hangover relief.

Montreal should win but likely won’t.
Voted egg salad but it goes out first round in this crowd.

The Denver sandwich is a very underrated sandwich. One of my favs, for sure.
If the roast beef was a beef dip, that'd be my winner.

PB & J and Smoked meat are the top two in my books. Sucks one will be eliminated right off the bat.
Just wish PB and honey was in the bracket.
I'm not even bothering with Reuben vs. Egg Salad. Both are disgusting.

Montreal Smoked meat at the #1 seed? I've always considered it a bit of an overrated sandwich and yes I've been to Schwartz's. I feel it's another one of those Canadian things propped up like Tim Hortons that's not as good as the hype.

Agreed.
If offered a Smoked meat vs a Cheese & Tomato on nice multigrain toast with mayo, S&P.
The Cheese and Tomato wins everytime hands down.

Bold lies!! A good MTL smoked meat sando is the best. Thing is you just aren't going to get one out west. Quebec simply does their things better than anyone else.

There was a place located down on McLeod by Limericks.
They flew in meat from Quebec.
It ain't great, barely above pastrami.

Monte Cristo is one of those menu items that I so rarely see, every time I go to a new restaurant that has it, I have to order it. Such a great sandwich. How can you not like a savoury french toast ham and cheesewich. Sits like a giant ball in your stomach for hours.

If the club house sandwich doesn't win this there is more wrong with the world than i think there is. Honorable mention to grilled cheese as well.

Have a reuben at Greenberg's in NY NY if you're ever in Vegas. I haven't been to NYC, but if that sandwich is representative of a reuben in NYC, then reuben could be a legit contender. Sooooo good.

Club House would be #1 on my list followed by a good Monte Cristo and Closed Denver. Best part of the club house is that it's hard to make a bad one providing you are using the classic ingredients. It's not easy to find a good smoked meat sandwich which kind of disqualifies it from being a top contender IMO.
