John Singleton has died

Had a stroke two weeks ago, they took him off life support today. Very sad. Boyz N the Hood was groundbreaking.

Damn, he's an important figure in film history too. Boyz N the Hood is a seminal film, it is also in the National Film Registry in the U.S., deserving of preservation and significance. RIP.

yeah way too young. Boyz N the Hood was one of the first movies I can recall seeing as an adult (young adult mind you) where I was just profoundly impacted/moved by the whole thing
