So looks like the concensus is that everyone loves the Nash pick eh?

But its dumb. He belongs there far more than either Kunitz or Nash.

I still defend Nash. St. Louis and Nash aren't fighting for the same role. Nash is great internationally.

Kunitz is a top ten scorer this year. Tell me why he doesn't belong?

If so, I understand the Subban selection better.

Smarter people than you realize Subban is an asset not a liability. He's going to be a star in this tournament, not a lightning rod.

He will get to do the same on Team Canada, so it's a good pick. Only question mark is will he perform under the pressure, time will tell.

Yup fair trade, Olympian for an Olympian.

So going with the chemistry thing for lines: (and assuming Bergeron ends up 4th line center)
Kunitz - Crosby - ??????
Sharp - Toews - ??????
?????? - Getzlaf - Perry
????? - Bergeron - ??????
Left shots -> Tavares, Marleau, Duchene, Benn, Nash
Right shots -> Stamkos, Carter

Yeah St Louis got jobbed. I never even considered that he wouldn't be on the team.

Bongo of course they select him but I still hope Price outplays him.
D is extremely solid. Vlacic is still a surprise pick for me and not big on the Hamhuis pick.
Carter I didn't think would make it but no complaints. Kunitz is on the team mostly because of Crosby.
No Oilers lol I can cheer for this squad.

Such a mistake.

While Giroux definitely should have been on the team, there's too much Carter hate.
He's a leading scorer in the league over the last five years. And he makes extremely timely goals. Big ice surface or not, you still need big players to park themselves in front of the net.

Doubtful they will play two right handed guys together the way they have gone out of their way to have 4 LD and 4 RD on the team.
Plus no way is Subban playing against other teams top line.

20 skaters and 2 goalies.
They do not have to dress any particular number of F and/ or D.
The total number of skaters , simply, cannot exceed 20.

No. I guess not.
It seems strange, because last couple of years I don't think I question this but this year he has been down right dreadful. He's had absolutely no ability to deal with outside speed and on a big ice surface? Hopefully this nomination gives him a kick in the pants.

Had you made team Canada just based on points...
Forwards:
Crosby
Tavares
Getzlaf
Thornton
Kunitz
Sharp
Perry
Toews
Seguin
Marleau
Hall
St.Louis
Duchene
Giroux
Defense
Keith
Subban
Seabrook
Pietrangelo
Weber
Bouwmeester
Garrison
Doughty
It is actually pretty close to the real team, and outside of Garrison I would have been okay with all the picks.

It sounds like from the interviews that St. Louis came down to the wire, and it was a very tough decision for Stevie Y... not saying that helps, but Yzerman did what he thinks is best for the team.
Will be interesting to see how this plays out. There is no coaches Dad drama with Team Canada that is for sure.. lol

I think Bergeron plays RW on the Toews line or is the 13th forward taking defensive zone draws and PKer.
Tavares will be other center.
