Same, I didn't think it would be so difficult to get a pre-order in. I've got email reminders setup on Amazon and Bestbuy to alert if/when new stock appears so hopefully that will be enough

Yeah some sites were okay but don't think it was smooth by any means.
Microsoft had issues. Bestbuy you still can't check out after two hours. EB Games was a little choppy at start but seemed to work okay in the end.
Walmart was smooth from the sounds of things but lots of people had it in cart and then it was sold out by the time they checked out.
Not just here though. By the sounds of my twitter feed it appears that the US pre-orders are having even more issues.

Not jumping on the pre-order train for either. I'll get my XSX after launch when supply is a little easier to come by.

I got a Series S preorder no problem from Walmart shortly after they went up. I imagine the X has been harder to get.

All pre-orders that were not Microsoft or BestBuy were pretty much gone for both systems within the first hour.
Currently Best Buy is the only Canadian retailer with any preorders left on either S or X.

Ended up getting an XBox Series X from the Microsoft store. Wasn't an issue two hours after the pre-orders opened.
Amazon's experience has been horrible. For some reason you can't actually search for the consoles so I wasn't even sure how to get to the pre-order page. I had to rely on forum posts in Resetera to find the direct link to the console. Same thing happened with the PS5. November will be fun (and ultra expensive).

Yeah bestbuy didn't have 16k at the time because they didn't have the demand, it was because the site was broken.
Once the site actually worked the 16k went pretty quick.

I can’t believe how poorly this was handled by Microsoft and Sony. I remember having no issues preordering the PS4, and I could do it months in advance.
It’s 2020, I really thought the days of struggling to buy/find consoles were over.

Did Q4 2013 have a massive pandemic resulting in huge ass supply chain issues and all sorts of weird consumer demand fluctuations? I must have missed that.

The 3080 release was way more crazy. The consoles were super tame in comparison.
The 3090 release is upcoming in a few days and I sorta think it'll be a tad better only because of the way higher price tag.
