I like it except Zary on the 4th line.

”I just want to play games, man,” the 23-year-old winger told Postmedia after Tuesday’s morning skate with the AHL’s Wranglers. “Whether it’s here or with the Flames, I just want to play games. I’ve been out for almost five months so for me, it’s just to play games.

“I don’t think it’s a bad thing. It’s not like I’m mad to be here. I’m not pissed to be here. I just want to play hockey. It’s a good opportunity — the Wranglers are here for the next two days and the Flames are going to have those days off. So it’s good that I can play hockey.”
Quote:
”For me, it’s time to work on my game,” Pelletier said. “Play these two games the best that I can and just find the pace again, find the rhythm, hopefully play some big minutes, power-play, get some touches … And then we’ll see what is going to happen.”
Quote:
”But it’s life. You can’t do much about it. You just have to work. Tonight is going to be a good opportunity for me to play a game and I’m just really excited.”

There’s that positivity again.

“Sometimes you get to take a step back and you might make two forward after that,” Pelletier said. “It starts here. It starts tonight. I’m just happy to play hockey. Enough of practising and rehabbing. I’m just happy to play hockey.”

Yeah he needs to play , need to provide some offense eventually
A Pelletier without offense is almost useless

He makes it sound like he's getting called back up? AHL is where he belongs.

You make it sound like he should not be recalled. Is that what you are saying?

I wonder if his game is going to translate to the NHL. He is tiny. I was at the Vegas game and saw him on the ice. He is Phillips small.

I love pelts but I can’t help but think the flames would’ve been targeting Mcmichael that year, who went 1 pick ahead of them. Pinto also went 6 picks after. Either of those guys at center would look pretty nice right now

Pelletier has demolished the AHL. Nearly ppg as a rookie.

He'll be fine. Just needs some reps. I expect he won't be there long.

He's played 120 mins this season after a major injury. Hard sledding for even the best players

He sees the ice to well to not figure it out.

Sometimes it's bounces too.

His injury issues this year have been frustrating, but you also need things to go your way. Zary comes up and leads the team in on ice shooting percentage (he's contributing to that, but it's bounces too). Coronato and Pelletier start on lines that don't produce, end up on the fourth line, then get sent down.

He'll be fine. Too smart a player.

And he's not Phillips small ... link below has a picture that shows the disparity

It can be hard to build confidence in the NHL so I have no issue with sending him down for a few games. Still, there are going to be lots of disinterested opponents down the stretch so this is not the toughest environment to excel in currently.

Next year is going to be interesting. Flames have a ridiculous amount of quantity up front. Including Coronato and Pelletier, you have 14 forwards. I could see them re-signing Greer too.

Pelletier needs that 'let's show you how this works kid' spot on Backlund and Coleman's line to open up.

As you say, he will have a career - he's a good positional player, thinks the game well and doesn't mess up often. Where he fits in a lineup will be a debate - I see him as a checking winger who may pop for 20 goals/40 points sometimes. But he won't hurt you on the top two lines if he has to fill in and he has energy to play bottom line.
