FFS, if I get in trouble for this I expect you to go to bat for me. Plus this is a joke, when I specifically brought up how I find jokes cringey.

What's the difference between jam and jelly?

NSFW!

A guy I used to work with used to make that same joke but with marmalade instead of jelly.

When Barney told it on HIMYM over 10 years ago he asked what was the difference between peanut butter and jam. There are some additional endings to the joke that can only be done with peanut butter.

I often find the extracurricular pursuits of famous musicians interesting.

little article about Brian May and his school work, with a link to his phd thesis. it's only 48,000 words for those with a scientific bent and time on their hands.

Thank you. I have no idea how that song made it out of editing in its current form.

Having older pets is so hard sometimes. It's heartbreaking watching my cat that I've had for 10+ years begin to lose his mobility. I'm not ready for this.

I have a cat closing in on 18. She's lost a lot of weight and drips saliva on me when she's cuddling but has had a good run. Sometimes when I get home and she doesn't greet me I get worried and look around for her in hopes it's not the day.

I have a 14 year old cat that has begun to not use the litter box.
he seems fine and happy in every way but perhaps going senile.

I sympathize with you as having an aging cat sucks.

Yeah, it sucks. We don't know how old he is either, so he could very well be 15+ years old. Last weekend he started limping pretty badly out of nowhere, so we took him in, and they couldn't determine any kind of injury with x-rays. It's gotten to the point where it's painful to watch him try to climb anything, we've had to put "stairs" against our furniture so he can get up to his favourite spots. He's not able to jump up on anything. It's awful.

Have you tried arthritis meds? They really helped my cat when she was 19, she made it to 21.

I had to go to a Sobey's last night and they were selling two fresh jalepeno, bacon, cheddar patties for $4.52.
they were selling two beyond meat patties for $7.99

I can't jump on the beyond meat bandwagon until they have a better price point.

I can't jump on the bandwagon because:

Quote:
Appearing on Friday’s AgriTalk, University of California/Davis professor Frank Mitloehner said the ingredients in two of America’s leading plant-based alternative proteins are quite similar to those found in dog food.

Explaining to rather stunned AgriTalk host Chip Flory, Mitloehner said, “When you look at Impossible Burger or Beyond Meat, you will find that they have 21 or 22 highly-processed ingredients. In fact, so processed that you are hard pressed in identifying the difference between those items, versus let's say, pet food.”
