My guess is his early season core injury isn't 100%. That's why he's out of the lineup now.

Does anyone know what's going on with Morin?
Last year he a lot more production. His plus minus was +29 and this year it's -4. This is despite the fact that his team has a better record this year and the rest of his teammate have slightly better +/- stats. In his draft year, he was 2nd in team scoring. This year, he's down to 7th.
I loved the pick, and his stats are still relatively good, but this season hasn't gone as hoped.

I do remember one of the knocks on his high production last year was that he played almost 30 minutes a game every night, sometimes more. Perhaps they upgraded their D and/or made it their plan to play him a more manageable amount per game this season, which would explain a points drop.
Totally just spit balling.

I read an article a short time ago (forgot to post) where they said that Morin was diving into heavily improving his physicality, and his defense this year. If so, very admirable on his part. I still love this kid, as much as I love Brzustewicz- and I LOVE Brzustewicz.

Didn't Morin's father die earlier this season? Or was it BRZ?

Morin is still quite young. Only turning 19 this year. His development path is going well. Imo.
My guess is, like they did with Poirier, they told the kid to work on his positioning and defence this year. That often limits scoring opportunities.
He still generates the highest shots per game rate of all QMJHL d men. Even if the points arent coming this year.
But that's just a guess.

No worries, Man- it's anyone's game!
Mar.17th:
Vancouver loses to Prince George, 6-3. Lipinski was second star, with 2 goals, an assist, and +1. 65gp/23g/42a/65pts,+1, 55 PIM. He has amassed 17 points in his last 10 games- looks like's playing on a line with Ty Halaburda, and Cam Schmidt. Really encouraging to see. Lipinski is also one of the best faceoff guys in the league, taking 1486 draws, and winning 57.6% of them.
Honzek gets no points, and was -3. 31gp/10g/20a/30pts,+3, 14 PIM.
Brzustewicz gets 1 assist, and was -1 in a 5-4 loss to Guelph. 64gp/12g/77a/89pts,+32, 22 PIM, tenth in OHL scoring.
