Default [Remember When] 90's Canadian Rock

In my early 30's now and vividly remember how much I enjoyed the mid to late 90s Canadian rock scene. When MuchMusic was still showing videos regularly, it seemed like there was a pretty good music scene here in Canada.

Whenever I hear a song by Moist, I Mother Earth, 54-40, Tea Party or Sloan, it takes me back. Anyone have any favs from that era?

Might be a good time to build a playlist

In my early 30s too. 90's? Bah. Give me more Glass Tiger, Honeymoon Suite, Loverboy, and Platinum Blonde.

Yeah Our Lady Peace always has a soft spot in my heart. As well as the Headstones and early Sloan.

Haha I was there! That was a good show...I still think about it whenever I walk by the high school field there.

And don't forget The Smalls. I've seen them live more than any other band. They're still my favourite. When they reunited this summer/fall it was like Nirvana coming back to life for me.

I saw all of these bands many, many times. I'll add in Matthew Good as well. I never specifically went to see him, but he was always there. I've seen the Tea Party over 30 times, it's a shame that they got so crappy after their 3rd album.

Watchmen absolutely top my list for Canadian 90s groups.

Econoline Crush
Matt Good
Sloan
Limblifter
Holly McNarland
Big Wreck

And Treble Charger put on one of the most memorable concerts in Calgary that I've ever been to.

The 90s were all about Blue Rodeo and the Hip for me. I hated grunge, and after about '95 everybody branched off to either boy bands, house, rap, punk, or numetal. There was really only a couple years where Can-rock was mainstream.

Saw them at Frank Sisson's Silver Dollar Casino when I was in grade seven! Highlight of my entire Jr. high experience.

Was a big fan of The Odds. They had a string of awesome songs and then kind of faded off into obscurity.

I can't remember the name of the show but it would have been 95 or 96, Cjay92 gave away tickets to the entire dome. HeadstonesJunkhouse, Moist, Rhymes with Orange, and 2 local bands. I was 15... and it was awesome, won row 6 2 days before the show.

*Edit*
Sorry it was Junkhouse... love this tune.
