Yeah, I caught that after I posted. It looks odd, although I expect he was at a loss on how to dress this up. God knows, he was probably too embarrassed to put a Jets logo on any part of his mask.

What, he couldn't find a place for a skull? Fail.
Geez these things are busy. It's like a contest to include as many elements and textures and scripts as possible. Also, it's grey. Why is his Team Canada mask grey?

Either you forgot to use green text, or you're blind, cause that mask is beautiful.

If anyone was even remotely following this world stuff cup they would have noticed the XXIII in the main logo from the get go. Seems like it was pretty obvious:

I agree with the general dislike of busy masks.
The most iconic masks I can think of were simple and bold. Brodeur and Potvin come to mind.
Then you had great masks like Joseph, Kipper, Belfour, and even Lundqvist's at the beginning (it's still great, just definitely busier than it used to be).
I guess it had a lot to do with personalities and consistent unique imagery. Not just "throw the team logo on it a bunch and a cartoon character and maybe 2 or 3 other elements that i want on there and some Invisible Wizard Tech"
Needs editing.

Is it Team North America, or is the Superbowl here already?

Luongo's always been my favorite for having simple and bold masks like his rustic one when he played for the Canucks. That one is my all time favorite.

Agreed. Masks nowadays are a little too busy for my liking. I hope Elliott's is more like this and less like Lundqvist... Not normally a fan of Daveart

agreed with the comments on masks being too busy, can't really see what's going on.
Corey Crawford's there is the best of Canada's masks.
I think a Flames mask that is really simple flames matching the team's colours would look awesome.

I'm not blind, but I guess some people just have different tastes than other people.
That mask appears to include representations of wood, steel, paper, carbon fibre, and ice. And lightning, and smoke, and handwriting, and maple leaves, and lens flares, and numbers, and logos.
Seems like an awful lot of stuff is all I'm saying. And it's grey. I don't like it, and you do. Fair enough.
That Varlamov one is more my speed. That's pretty cool. Just the team colours and crest. I've never liked the trend of putting a nickname on the chin though. Crawford's looks good too.

Brian Elliott's mask was shipped yesterday so hopefully we hear about it soon. He was practicing with his old Blues gear back at home in Wisconsin so I'm assuming his new gear is still being ordered.
