A pretty good opening episode!
All the teams seem interesting, though that one lady, Michelle, seems rather...unpleasant.

Ha ha, flashback to start...
This week, the race kicks off with the teams travelling to Trinidad & Tobago. It was a nail biting finish for my two teams, but they pulled it out in the end. The catfishers weren't so lucky and they went home early.
There was no Pit Stop as the teams continued racing after they reached the mat, so there was no first place prize. - Hung & Chee

- Eswar & Aparna

Next week, the teams continue racing in Colombia.

It's available on CTV's website.

I liked the episode but it made me really miss the airport scenes. More so that switching of flights and taking chances to get ahead. I've never enjoyed the scheduled flights as much.

Finally got a chance to watch this morning. Trying to remember my teams without checking here and accidentally getting spoiled. Disappointing to lose a team already. As soon as it started though, I had a bad feeling about them. So far, I like everyone except Michelle, who is already starting to annoy me.
Edit:And I hadn't been missing travelling much, but now I really want to go to Trinidad and Tobago and do everything they did... even the goat racing!

That tightrope walk was a lot easier than I thought it would be.
This week, the teams travel to Colombia and we discover yet another society where people love to decorate their vehicles with gaudy crap. The Olympians never got on track and were sent home in leg #2. Hung & Chee are crushing it so far. - Hung & Chee (Win trip to Switzerland)

Next week, the teams travel to the Amazon. Are they primed to deliver?

I liked this episode.
I thought that the tightrope walk would be way harder, too. But then, that cable they were walking on looked like it was basically immobile, and the 'umbrella' was attached to a sliding point that could be used for balance too, so the main challenge was keeping the tray flat enough not to drop/spill.
Kinda glad the Olympians are gone. They just never seemed...competent at anything beyond running (I did snicker seeing that one nearly outrun the goat in the last ep).
Liking what I'm seeing so far.

There are definitely a few weaker teams that just seem to hang on. Unfortunately my team appears to be one of them. And they were crying in the review of next episode, so that's not good.
Not much really challenging in that episode. I like to see teams suffer, like in the first few seasons of the Amazing Race Canada.

I agree with enjoying seeing teams suffer. I've also never been an "alliance" fan. You play to win the game. Lie, cheat and do what it takes. Yield someone!

I'm not an alliance fan either. I think the producers push it to get some "drama" but I hate that part of the show. The race itself is the best drama, not bickering between teams.
I wouldn't have used the yield if I was near the front though, especially this early in the race. Not really anything to gain at this point.
I wonder if the teams who won trips got to use them before Covid, or if they had to wait until the show aired. If they had to wait, those prizes are pretty much useless now.

A decent episode with some neat challenges.
Michelle continues to be a b*tch.
Will & James feel kinda 'greasy' too.
What is it with teams not reading their clues fully? You'd think that would be a no-brainer.

The person in charge of blurring out the nipples worked overtime for this episode.
Basically every team made what could have been a fatal error this week, but since they mostly cancelled out, it didn't really make a difference, except for Frank & Jerry, but they were at the back of the pack anyway and despite the editing, were probably already eliminated before they even reached the U-Turn board.
One thing I liked is that they finally went back to having the U-Turn board after the completion of the Detour.

Next week, the teams travel to Paraguay for what will likely be the first non-elimination leg of the race. Actually, it looks like we get two episodes next week, so one will certainly be a non-elimination.

I don't understand how many teams still get caught by not reading the clues fully either?? I'm sure the situations are stressful, but geez, it's pretty basic.

Finally, someone did something and tried to use the U-Turn to get out who they found to be a strong team (and they may be just the best team...no biased here). I agree that after so many seasons reading the clue is still not the #1 priority for all teams.

They haven't really done much to show they are as strong team though, they keep making mistakes and finish at the back. Why not go for actual strong teams, like the Chinese couple, or the beard guys? It was pretty baffling.

That was a pretty strategic move by Kaylynn/Haley, though. Which is also amusing, because the need to "pay back" Alana/Leo wouldn't have even existed, had K/H read their clue last episode...

Ya, the Kaylynn/Haley move was nice. The gay guys made the questionable one. Maybe it's because they have that stupid "half the teams" alliance.

The feeling I got was that for some inexplicable reason, they just don't LIKE Alana/Leo. I dunno if something happened off-camera or what, but it seemed it was more spite than anything else.
