Default Black Friday Deals 2020

Previous years these threads have popped up and was great for sharing different online deals that people were spotting leading up to Christmas. Online shopping seems like it will be the way to go this year especially with COVID.

Anyone have any good deals they are finding?

Sonos Move is 150 bucks off, bought one online from Sonos.com, it is backordered but that's a pretty solid deal off of a typically $500 speaker.

Almost non-existent. Two decent deals on video games I wanted, everything else I was interested in, the price didn't move a cent

That's expected given the logistical problems and pandemic disruptions to manufacturing.

Expect even higher prices and crappy "sales" next year. Semiconductor pricing has increased substantially with fabs and chip manufacturers charging 10-15% more for Q1/Q2 2021 orders, and the shipping company consolidation has led to a 30-40% increase in transpacific cargo shipping rates going into Q2, just in time for next years Black Friday manufacturing and shipments.

Those costs are going to get passed directly onto the consumer. If there is something you need before next BF, might as well buy it now.

I bought a HomePod. Never thought I would but Apple is liquidating them (relatively speaking) with $130 gift card.

Wanted an AirPlay speaker and was going to get a Sonos Five. Going to try this one out and if it is no good will just return. If it works I save over $300!

How is the flow of people physically shopping down in Calgary? I would imagine things aren't quite as busy as they would of normally been?

The Move looks pretty sweet.
I have a 30% credit due to the Sonos upgrade program and was considering using it on the move. I'm glad now that I didn't. I can't combine the discounts, which is a bit of kick in the balls.

So I bought a Westinghouse 4K Roku TV on a screaming deal at Shoppers with PC points.

It now has Airplay enabled, which literally showed up out of the Blue,

Today I picked up a Sonos 1 at Shoppers for $40 with $150 of PC points, then the added another $70 with the event they’re having.

Can you explain this a bit more? What I think you are saying is you ended up paying only 40 for sonos 1 using your pc points but I don't understand the added another $70 with the event they're having bit as it would mean you managed to make money on this event. Fill me in please!

The Sonos speaker retails for $250 @ Shoppers (~$260 with tax).

They have a points promo on whereby when you use $150 worth of points, they add another $70 to make it $220 worth of points, and I paid the remaining portion.

I had over 250k PC Optimum points. Bought a Nintendo Switch (Mario Kart bundle) at shoppers drug mart for $400 for my kids’ Christmas present.

Black Friday promo made the 250k points value at $400 instead of $250. So I saved $150 on a Switch.

Nice! Those are what I use, and really like them. Running and biking they are great. And when travel comes back they are good in the airplane with its sound isolation.
