You can get a feel for how hard everything is by how hard it is to just put a tee in the ground at the tee boxes - 1cm of sod, then you need a hammer to push the tee in any further. I just ended up using shorter tees.
It's from all the silt deposited by the flood. That stuff is like concrete until some organic matter and sand get mixed in.

The holes at that were flooded at River's Edge and Inglewood were the same way for a couple years. The side bonus is that the deposited soil is very nutrient rich which makes for good grass.

Anyone know if they had been maintaining the course these past few weeks?

Looks like Windmill is operating BP for this season and see how the numbers work out. Then they'll make an offer to buy it at the end of this season.

I heard a rumor that Heritage Pointe will be selling off 3 holes on Desert for Development and re purposing the 3 hole practice loop into Desert.

If true - that didn't take them long to wreck that course.

^^^ That's awful news.

I'm guessing it will be 4, 5 and 6 that get sold off.

The holes on the loop are pretty sterile and don't fit with the rest of the Desert 9.

Didn't they do something similar at The Hamptons?

Yes they did, completely removed 14 and 15 and reconfigured a half dozen holes to fit in the 2 holes that were lost. I think they are putting 60+ houses in 2 different areas.

The mosquitos are back! Had to use some lotion on the course today.

It's late for mosquitoes. Hopefully they don't stick around long either.

Pulled the trigger on a Cottonwood membership last week, played my first round Sunday. Walked 18, shot a 96 from the blues, which was pretty good considering I haven't swung a club in 9 months. Probably hit about 400 balls between the range and the round.

All I learned is that I'm old. My hips have been like taught elastic bands ever since. Who knew golf was so strenuous? lol

The online booking is now up and shows 94 dollars a person, assuming that doesn't include cart.

Played Heritage Point for the first time on the weekend. Fun course... course was in great shape. Greens rolled very nice.

Played Point and Desert 9s. Enjoyed it all although was not a big fan of the Par 5 5th on the Point side. Strange hole.

Great facility all in all

Is that that hole where you have no idea where you are hitting ever and what club to hit. I think it eventually goes to a elevated green or something stupid on the right side?

Yep...you nailed it. Don't get me wrong...nearly every course has that "1 hole" but I found this one to be extra odd....

And its not even because I tripled it or anything like that !!!

I some how birdied that hole while playing terrible on every other hole last year so I for one absolutely love it! I then backed it up with a 6 on the par 3 right after. That hole sucks

$79 on weekdays. Is this course walkable?

Played Sirocco yesterday. Carts are 90 degrees now. Greens still in rough shape.
