Greens are rolling great at Priddis, especially on Raven after they redid a bunch of them last year!

I played River Spirit on saturday. Tee boxes as usual were pretty trashy, but the course was in good shape outside of that.

Now that it's June, everyone *should* have done the spring aeration.

For those courses who did, grow-in takes about 2 weeks depending on weather. The greens get rolling good just in time for mosquito season.

I get bursitis in my knees. Stretch before and ice after.

I played Blue Devil today. Greens are horrible. They were butchering #1. Temp green on #13.

Delacour's greens are awful beyond #2.

They had a big tourney this past weekend and people were raging.

Courses I have played in last 2 weeks for greens:

River Spirit - good
McKenzie Meadows - very poor still had a temp green
Sirocco - poor
Carstairs - best of the bunch - slow but roll true

I think it’s been a tough spring for everyone. I played in Cranbrook last week and the greens at St Eugene and Kimberly were mediocre at best. Bootleg and Wildstone were fine but even those are typically better this time of year.

Tennis elbow(tender on the outside). There is a strap you can find at drug stores.I wear it straight for about 24 hrs and it goes away. They make one for golfers elbow too.

I think the bands are supposed to absorb the vibration going into your forearm and they do help. Although you COULD just stop hitting bad shots....lol

I get it all the time. Ice, stretch and advil. Mainly ice. I also stretch my forearms daily (for other reasons) and roll them with a lacrosse ball.

I'm 44 and discovering that a little work on mobility goes a loooooong way.

Yup and yup. Oh, #10 was punched. It's a mess there right now. No wonder it was 50% off.
Anyone play Glen Eagles or Wintergreen lately?

Blue Devil has always been a rip off. Im not saying it cant be a nice course in 15yrs once it matures, but to charge 115 is mind bottleing. I refuse to go there.

The greens at River's Edge are much, much better. Recovering from aeration and top dress nicely.

Golfed Kananaskis (Mt. Kidd) on Tuesday. Every hole could be a postcard. Unfortunately, just like last year, the greens are not receptive at all - never made a pitch mark (even on the elevated par 3) and approaches 150+ yards out that landed on the green often rolled off the back. Fairways were hard too. Last year, I remember a drive that hit the fairway and must have bounced 20 ft in the air. Saw a few big bounces on drives again this year.

You can get a feel for how hard everything is by how hard it is to just put a tee in the ground at the tee boxes - 1cm of sod, then you need a hammer to push the tee in any further. I just ended up using shorter tees.

Greens were mostly smooth, though you can still see the aeration holes and sand was nice and fluffy.

But the views are spectacular.

Also, those using Garmin watches/gps will note several discrepancies in yardages - they said that Garmin hadn't updated their maps yet. Instead, they suggest you download their app which will use your phone's gps and give you yardages.

Nanton is much the same. Greenskeeper has the greens a bit shaggy to protect them from all the heat but otherwise all the greens are in excellent shape. Best they've been in years.
