If he's ready to go pro after this year, he'd be financially crazy not to sign. Two extra years of income, getting to his UFA years two years earlier. The dollar value difference in the two year difference is potentially several million dollars over the course of his career. Huge advantage for the Flames just as it was with Johnny.

What if he signs and gets buried in the AHL under Sutter? He would only get paid AHL money right? Or does he get paid NHL money if he plays in the AHL if he signs a 1 way deal?

No, Entry Level Contracts are 2 or 3-way deals depending on age

3-way contracts haven't been a thing since before the lockout. I believe Gio was the last 3-way contract the Flames signed.
If Coronato signs before the end of this season and burns off the first year, he'll get paid his $92,500 signing bonus right away, plus a couple of weeks of NHL salary. Because he'd be signing after the deadline, he wouldn't be able to be sent to the AHL, so he'll also get a chance to make an impression on the coach.
Harvard is pretty-much a lock to make the NCAA Tournament, so his season will end either the weekend of March 23-26 if they don't win their region, or as late as April 8, if they make the Frozen Four. Either way, the Flames have games up to April 12, so he'll have the option to sign & burn even if the Flames miss the playoffs.
After that, he'd get another signing bonus on July 1. Then, depending on if he makes the team out of camp, he'll either get his NHL salary or his AHL salary for next season, and the same the following season.
If he signs and burns this spring, he'll be an RFA on July 1, 2025. If he decides to be stubborn and play out his NCAA eligibility, he would become a UFA (but still have to sign a 2-year ELC) in August 2025.
A final option he has is to sign a 3-year ELC that starts next season and play out the end of the season in the AHL (the Wranglers will likely have a longer run than the Flames this spring). He wouldn't get the signing bonuses as quickly and would have to wait a year for RFA, but it would give him extra leverage as an RFA.

he's scoring those goals on Devon Levi, who is probably the best goalie in college hockey, and I would guess a top 5 goalie prospect in the NHL

More and more I think Gaudreau with 80 points in 40 games in his 3rd year of college was now ridiculous. Is anyone that close this year?
Coronato looks impressive but has scoring in college dropped?

Since Gaudreau entered college his 80 points in a season is still the most. Only three other players have broken 65 points (Eichel, Connor, Miele (Mathew Philips but American)). The best players usually end up right around 60 points in any given season. Gaudreau was special, a HoF talent for sure if he had any team success.
If Coronato can keep his pace (not sure how many games left for him) he should end up in a pretty good spot for u21 players over the last while. Probably not someone who’s projecting to be an A level offensive threat but would optimistically be a solid supporting guy like a Reilly Smith/Jaden Schwartz/Jason Zucker level guy.

Coronato's teammate Henry Thrun has informed the Ducks he will not be signing with them:

It's been four years since his draft, but because Harvard didn't play during 2020-21, he played that season in the USHL. This opens the Schultz loophole (which also burned the Ducks) and he can become a UFA on June 1.

Thrun is a very good college player. Not a high end prospect, but probably better than your typical 4th round pick. Good size, good skating, can play physical. Checks well, moves the puck well, not offensively gifted, but good at getting shots through. I bet he has an NHL career
The Ducks have a deep blueline prospect pool. Probably makes sense for him to look for a shot somewhere else.
