Man, if Carolina wasn’t so close to a playoff spot I’d love McElhenney.

“Talbot is going to fetch something that matters in return,” indicated Dreger. “But it’s not going to be a top-six forward. So what’s it likely going to be. Is it a young NHL roster player and a pick. Is it a better pick and a prospect. I don’t know what the Oilers are looking for Talbot. What I know is that the interest is developing around Cam Talbot.”

Nailed it Darren. Is Dreger relevant anymore?

The Score now reporting WPG and VGK showing serious interest in Stone with the Jets making aggressive proposals.

From what I heard from a good source years back, is that Dreger is tight with someone at the league office, so he gets a jump on transactions as the trade calls come in and the admin paperwork stuff starts occurring, but before announced or finalized.
That’s why the Jokinen deal when Flames reacquired him, went sideways as Dreger jumped the gun by a day since the proc ss had started, but not finished before he announced it.

The best teams were better back then. Much more parity now.
There is a reason why you get better than 2 to 1 odds in Vegas betting on TB.
That’s a fact Jack.

We cant sit idly by and allow Vegas, Winnipeg or Nashville to get substantially better before the playoffs. Dont throw away this great season tre. You can do it.

I'm willing to bet the Flames get one of "the big fish" at the deadline and at least one complimentary player. They sort of went that way with UFA signings (Neal being the big fish and Ryan being a complimentary player) and they're not afraid to make big moves (Lindholm and Hanifin deal) and its paid off for them so far.
Treliving is good at following his gut, seems to be in on everyone and by my account is a good negotiator. I'm pretty excited for the next 9 days to see what happens

Tre is notorious for doing his work a week or two before the deadline. Next few days should be interesting as a fan!

True, but with so many good options apparently available I could see him waiting things out to drive the prices down as well

Sounds like Calgary is not on Johansson's no trade list
Pierre LeBrun @PierreVLeBrun
Johansson will be a sneaky good trade deadline pickup for a contender now that he’s healthy and playing well. He has a 5-team no-trade list but my understanding is that none of those teams would be in play anyway.

Can Johansson play RW?
Alternatively, can Chucky switch to RW?
Johansson would make our second line a lot more dangerous, and would carry a more reasonable price tag than a lot of the bigger targets.

Plays all three forward positions but is best at LW.

Johansson has 72 games of playoff experience to Dzingel's 15.
I would love a few more players with serious playoff performance.

Johansson would be a huge get. He reminds me a bit of Marcus Nilsson-drafted to be a scorer, but has settled in to being a good defensive, all around player who can move up and down the line-up and play all 3 forward positions, while chipping in offensively.
