The Diary cartel is a real thing. Michigan and Wisconsin dairy farmers have been outraged for years at Canada's protectionist policies making them unable to compete in our market.
You gotta buy votes somehow though.

It's not bland American cheese that we want access to, it's the good European stuff!

It's not about buying votes. The vast majority of Canadians want cheaper dairy products and more competition within the market. It's not even about protecting the market from American companies, even small time Canadian companies can't get into the market. When the cost of a dairy license for a single cow is $50k+ and then you have to pay for labour, land, facilities, etc.. on top of that, where's the protection for the small farmer?
This is about large dairy companies lobbying the government, at the expense of everyone else.

When I was working in Italy, before every trip home I would walk to the nearby grocery store and load up on parm. Everybody I knew got parm, it was so good and so cheap relative to here. And surprisingly it is 100% legal to bring in. Mozzarella di buffala on the other hand, not allowed.
I even brought back many 1 euro per kilo bags of 00 flour for pizza making.

That's exactly what I'm saying. Government policies are artificially inflating prices (and therefore profits) for Canadian dairy farmers.
American Farmers can't compete in Canada because of these unfair practices, and therefore our prices remain high. Consumers suffer, dairy farmers are fat and happy.

I wonder if that flour is from wheat grown in Canada...that would be just about right, I'm sure.

I wonder how informed the general Canadian is about this? The big reason why they can get away with this is by how ignorant the great majority of Canadians are to how ####ed we're getting by the dairy cartel.

My in laws work for the cartel. But we get so much free cheese that it goes bad. I hate it and like it at the same time.

I have all this cheese that fell off a truck, would you hold it for me for awhile? I’ll make it worth your time.

Order. It's amazing.
We went prosciutto and arugula. Perfectly cooked crust in a wood fired oven. Loads of toppings. For $22 it's a very good value for a gourmet pizza.

Different strokes - I would not want to eat that. Arugula on pizza?
Then again, I like pineapple on pizza.

Pineapple adds some acid and some sweetness as contrast. Arugula has the same effect, but adds pepper and bitterness.
