Last weekend I decided to check out the IBSF World Cup Bobleigh races here in YYC. It was my first time seeing live bobsleigh, despite living just a few minutes away. Hopefully the track gets its funding and survives! It would be a shame to lose it! Below are a few of my favourite shots.

Got some visitors around dinner time. They like to come up from the Highwood river and then travel along the greenspace behind my house. In this case they jumped the fence to make their way across the street to the Highwood golf course.

Went out to the Kicking Horse river just downstream from the natural bridge, Yoho National Park on the weekend. Here are a few of my favourites.

Lighting is surprisingly tough to photograph! I should have had my ND filters, but forgot them in the hotel room.

hey Fuzz

are you trying to 'catch' the lightning yourself or do use a sensor? i've got the "AEO lightning strike! II" - it works great!

I had it on a 2 second exposure, so I would hit it as soon as I saw a flash, as they tend to come in groups. Lighting sensor sounds neat, but I'm rarely in a position to take these, so probably not worth the extra equipment!

On the topic of lightning strikes, a couple nights ago I spent the evening storm chasing! Got a couple images of the building thunderheads and also got my first ever shot of lightning! I'll definitely be doing this again, it was a fun and exciting evening!

Hiked into Consolation Lakes this morning. For those that haven't been its quite easy, the only difficulty being crossing the rock fall/scree/snow fields to get to this second of the two lakes. Once you pass that though you're treated to these magnificent views!
This is a 5 shot panorama taken on Pentax K1 w/ HD DA 15-30 lens @15mm. F9.5@20s ISO 100 NISI 6 stop ND + 3 stop grad

Recently did a trip through some of the natural wonders of the American west, and took some photos. I don't think I can take our piddly little Hoodoos seriously after these places...

Shot on 120 film. Higher resolution versions in links.
