Mcavi sitting at -3 so far tonight. Still amazing that a guy who produces almost 2ppg is hovering near 0 in +/-.

Help, save, whatever.
|
The first 5 mintues of the game the Oilers had quite a few Grade A scoring chances and Campbell came up big. After that the Leafs did a pretty great job defensively and really locked the Oilers down in the 3rd.
Best part of the game for me is seeing Tavares playing well again. That was one of the better games he has had since the first few to start the season. He seemed more relaxed out there and was even talking and laughing on the bench. The Mitch Marner Effect maybe? I didn't like Marner's contract when he signed and how it went down but he's been worth it this year. Not just offensively but he has been amazing defensively as well.

Ehlers has found a new gear this year. I thought I had him pegged but he’s improved.

"And then the coach looks at Missus Champ and says "We're pulling the goalie". "I said what", and he said it again "We're pulling the goalie" Well I snap . . . I lose it . . .

What the hell is going on with the Blues & Sharks? It's 6-6 and not even midway through the 3rd.
Must be a full moon.

I keep hearing about the Leafs and Oilers battling for 1st yet the Jets are one point back of the Oilers with 3 games in hand.
Just do the winning% standings already NHL

When I quickly scan, I just look at W-L (regulation losses, not incl OTL) and that difference is all I need
Oilers are 5 games above, Jets are 7
Never mind total games played. When it all shakes out, standings are in order of the difference between the two

I like your reasoning. That was shoot out the lights hockey. The Blues won 7-6 in regulation time.

Ha, I also go by games over .500. Or in the Oilers' inevitable case every year, under .500.

Final scores
https://scores.nbcsports.com/nhl/sco...p?day=20210227
http://sportsstats.cbc.ca/news/NHL-R...ate=02-27-2021
The Avalanche took over the game in the 3rd period as they scored 4 goals to win 6-2 over the Coyotes. Raanta made 35 saves in the loss.
The Kings were down 3-0 and did come back to tie it at 3-3 with 2 PPGs. The Wild won in OT with 0.3 seconds left. Dumba scored the GWG, nice shake to throw Petersen off.
The Jets have now won 4 straight as they beat the Habs 2-1 in OT. Hellebucyk kept the Jets in the game as the Habs out shot the Jets 14-2 in the 3rd period.
The SC rematch was one sided as the Lightning crushed the Stars 5-0. Special teams were the main reasons Tampa Bay won. They had 2 PPGs, 1 SHG, and were 6/6 on the PK. The Stars PP sucked. Vasilevskiy with the 20 save SHUTOUT.

Tonight shows how much of a bond that Auston Matthews and Connor McDavid built up when training together over the offseason. Matthews took the night off, and McDavid said "You know what? I'll do the same."
