Just going to reiterate how good this Mitski album is. Probably one of my favorite albums to come along in a long time.
It is a great album, although I haven't listened enough to say if it's better than her previous one. I love that it has 14 songs in just over 30 minutes, which is a perfect runtime. She's a punk at heart.

Thanks for all the posts everyone! Even though music is at our fingertips in this day and age, it is definitely hard to find the diamond in the rough artists that don't really get a lot of fanfare. Appreciate everyone's taste in music and 2018 has been a great year thus far in my opinion!

The new IDLES ablum, Joy As a Act of Resistance, is out today. I really loved their last one, Brutalism. This one is different but great in a different way:

Overlooked this one due to being preoccupied with the new Alkaline Trio album, but Laura Jane Grace released the first song off her upcoming solo album.

The new IDLES is in serious contention for album of the year for me. It's full of anger and clever references. This has been my jam for cleaning up.
Concrete to leather! Agreed. Best album to come out in a while in my opinion. I like that they're advocating for a lot of things that punk (especially UK punk) is often opposed to -- immigration, masculinity, empathy, etc. It's like their being punk about being punk, metapunk.
I'm going to see them in two weeks, very excited about that.
