I would not have minded keeping him as a 7th D. I thought he was servicable and could keep opponents honest.

As a Shark though he can suck on it and I hope he has to play top 4 minutes for most of the season.

He was a serviceable depth defenseman for us last year. With the maturity of our youth, and Stone potentially being healthy, it makes sense for him to move on.
