The Flames also won 26 at home, but just lost. The Avs only won 17 road games this year, but just got the split in Calgary. Not sure those stats mean much.

1-1 series. Off to Colorado.
Lol, some people are already going off the edge cuz the series is tied? At least save it for a time when they are down.
Home ice is nice but I think it’s been proven that it’s irrelevant. Flames are a good road team, Peters will have them ready

In his last playoff game, Ryan O'Reilly scored a goal to put his team ahead late, finished with a point and as a +1, and threw a hit.
Oh wait, sorry. That was Sean Monahan. O'Reilly had an even plus-minus and didn't throw any hits.

It’s a new season. Playoffs are, in fact, right now not going so hot for other teams. Loads of babies start yapping about their whipping boy Brodie (+29) like he is generally a problem
It is silly. That’s all. Recognized as such. At early hours and not emotional or overpoured
If +29 is garbage, I like garbage

Brodie was garbage tonight, the fact that you use +/- as your saving grace is 'cute' btw. You should just take your own medicine and 'shut the f up' already kiddo.

Shhhhh!
Don’t allow the malcontents and cynics to consider success. It’s not in their realm.

Since everybody likes to look up a persons post history, you can see my comments after game 1.
I really admire peoples faith in the team, but I don't know how anybody can watch them play in crunch time and have any faith this team can win the cup.
|
These things happened in playoff all the time though. I don't know if you have watched the 1989 playoff series between Calgary and Vancouver. That gap is even bigger and that Flames team was the President Trophy winner, and that Canucks team push the Flames to 7th game OT.
The thing I don't understand is ( and this is an honest question) that if you have no faith on the team, why spend time on a message board? Does it give you satisfaction in putting down a team most of us cheer on?

That assist by Bennett is one of the nicest plays he's made in his pro career.

Colorado didn't carry the play in Game 1... it was a very even game that tilted in Calgary's favour as it progressed
The Flames got it taken to them tonight and yet were just two minutes away from a win. Gee whiz.

Wasn't even the nicest play he made this game.
His hit on Cole was mainline umami.

TJ Brodie had an awful game, and sadly, is likely the reason we lost.
Why he kept getting the minutes he did is beyond me.

Nathan MacKinnon was a stud. Need to eliminate him or we are in big trouble.

That doesn't really mean anything man. The Avalanche have 1 line, 3 players up front who are dangerous. The Flames were built as a team that had superior depth (which I think they do). Yet through 2 games the Avs have generated 41 scoring chances through 2 games and the Flames 36. Forget the stats though, the Avs have carried play minus a 10 minute stretch in the 2nd period of game 1.
Till Monahan scored tonight you couldn't even tell he's been playing for the first 2 games. Lindholm has played hard, but is generating next to nothing. Johnny is literally trying to carry both these guys. Is this a recipe for long term success in the playoffs? I just don't think so. Hopefully i'm wrong, believe it or not I live and die by this team and just want to be alive when this team wins a cup.

It will be absolutely key for Calgary to come out in Game 3 and score the first first-period goal of this series. They need to set a very early tone and scoring would be the best way to do it.
I want a 3-goal Flames lead after one.

Pointless thing to argue about, but its just annoying they don't give us all of the angles after stuff like this, I just want confidence they are getting the calls right.
All I'm really setup to do is pause the TV and take pictures. But CBC showed 2 angles after the game.
First is hard to judge because of lack of depth on a TV, but the puck appears to approach the cross bar then go straight down.
Second the Camera turns a little too late, then the post is obscuring the puck, then it is coming straight down in the blue paint.
