Again, it is neither. Just because it somehow could have been worse does not make it good. Myers is a bottom pairing defenseman who in a pinch maybe could play 5. He's basically replacement level. Giving him Mark Stone's contract would be overpaying him.
The whole "IT'S GOING TO BE 7x7M" thing earlier in the week appears to have adjusted peoples' expectations. It's not a historically awful signing, but it's still going to be probably the worst contract handed out today.
