I don't think that this deal has any relavance for the Tkachuk deal.
Sounds like a pretty okay deal though. He is better than Hayes.

Did the offer sheet take MTL out of the running for Lee? I read they were pursuing him hard and now they won’t have either.

my guess it's the opposite... they took the chance on the offer sheet once Lee informed them he'd stay with NYI

why wouldn't he have singed an 8-yr deal a couple days earlier ????

I think we are hitting the point when the remaining players may have to settle with less than anticipated contracts.
