Watching the Shapo - Bopanna vs. Popsock doubles match - Both Vasek and Shapo (good Canadian boys) are wearing shorts while Bopanna and Sock (India and America respectively) are wearing full leggings.

Shapo can rightly complain about bad calls, but there's really no excuse to lose a match you had two service games to win in the fifth.
I think it was already clear before this, but it's just another demonstration that he doesn't have the ability to bear down that's necessary to be a top 10, top 5 player, despite having all the general talent required for that to happen.

Shapo needs more variety too. Gotta slice and dropshot on clay.

Shapo rips into French Open scheduling, says the heavy balls forced him to come to net because it was impossible to hit winners, and basically says there is no bubble to keep the players safe from contracting COVID-19.

well, he's kind of already made it into the top 10, but I'll go ahead and friendly bet you that he'll be comfortably inside top 10 in October 2021, and top 5 in October 2022. the kid is 5 years away from his prime, the Night Train has only just started to roll.

I know all those names except for Drobny (who?) and I'm quite surprised that Lendl had that many wins at the French Open.

I decided to wiki Drobny, turns out he also played hockey and was very good at it huh who knew.
From Wiki
From 1938 to 1949 Drobný played center in the Czechoslovak ice hockey league.[4] He was a Silver medalist with the Czechoslovak ice hockey team in the 1948 Olympics. In the final match, Czechoslovakia and Canada tied goalless but Canada won the gold medal due to a better overall goal average. Drobný scored 9 goals in 8 games at the Olympics. Jaroslav Drobný was also a member of the Czechoslovak national ice hockey team which won the gold medals at the 1947 World Ice Hockey Championships in Prague.[14] He scored 15 goals in 7 games in the tournament including a hat-trick in the decisive victory over USA which gave his country its first ever World Championships title. In 1997, Drobný was inducted in the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Hall of Fame.[17] Drobný could have become the first ever European player to start in the National Hockey League when the Boston Bruins put him on their reserve in 1949. Apparently, he was offered $20,000 to come over to play for Boston but he refused, preferring to remain playing amateur ice hockey and retain the flexibility to play tennis during the summers.[18]

Crazy that Borg is not on that list. He certainly would be if had so wanted with a record of 49-2.

The guy had a very interesting life as he left Czechoslovakia in 1949 and travelled as a Egyptian citizen until settling in the UK in 1959. Won the French twice in singles as well as winning the doubles and mixed doubles once. Also won Wimbledon in 1954 and to this date is the only player with African citizenship to win Wimbledon (aside from Fed who has South African citizenship, but obviously competes under the Swiss flag).

Genie is out following a 6-3 6-2 loss to Swiatek. Tough one today, Swiatek played very well.

What’s with the fans sitting side by side? Aren’t they supposed to be social distancing in the stands? Which is why they let in low numbers so they are able to? Ridiculous

Speaking of playing well, Simona Halep walloped Amanda Amisinova 6-0 6-1 earlier today and next faces Iga Swiatek.
Edit: Simona with a shoutout to her coach.
