Default Arnold Schwarzenegger cast in ’Toxic Avenger’ remake

Aww, FFS! Hollywood can't even make their own original bad movies, they have to remake them?

To be fair, the Toxic Avenger movies aren't *that* bad, but it and it was definitely direct-to-VHS fare.

p.s. - Arnie, its time to fire your agent and start getting in James Cameron's good graces.

A mainstream reboot of the “classic” Troma franchise, the action-comedy will follow a 17 year-old high school student who gets dunked in toxic waste by a corrupt chemical company. He survives with the ability to transform into a monster with superhuman strength and becomes an unlikely hero.

The Toxic Avenger is probably the worst movie I have ever seen. Yet it was also one of the funnest movies I have ever seen.

I can't see this movie making any money. I doubt many people know about the Original let alone will see a remake.

If he doesn't rip off a dude's arm and beat him to death with it, Troma is dead to me.

Actually, Troma's been dead to me since 2001 when Lloyd Kaufman skipped out on the CIFF (WHYYYY) because of 9/11. He was plugging the awesome book "All I Need To Know About Filmmaking I Learned From The Toxic Avenger" which was coming out later that year, and I was so sad when he cancelled.

So yeah, remakes are cool, but I'm really looking forward to a Terror Firmer or Sgt. Kabukiman NYPD remake.

Loved the original toxic avenger, I don't think that a big screen big budget remake will help the concept.

Some movies were built around cheap sets, bad costumes and horrendous acting and profited from them.

I think that is exactly the reason why some films like Toxic Avenger, Troll 2, Evil Dead are so beloved. It's too bad the Star Wars Holiday Special didn't quite achieve this. I think it was so close, but just fell on the side of being completely unwatchable.

I'm pretty sure Troll 2 is beloved by absolutely nobody.

Angry Video Game Nerd's latest episode is him and Lloyd Kaufman reviewing Toxic Avengers for Game Boy, NES and Sega. Pure awesome.

This has over paid and over hyped with Arnold being in it. Arnold will make more than the movie will at box office. DVD sales might be profitable afterwards for the cult classic fetish.

Troll 2 is considered a cult classic, there are touring viewing parties for what is considered the worst movie of all time.

Its legendary in its terribleness and because of that its created a cult following.

Oh I'm well aware of it's cult status, but it's the misuse of the word "Beloved" that I take issue with.

Troll 2 is a pile of crap, but entertaining. Evil Dead 2/Toxic Avenger are actually lovable movies for their kitch, both movies being very self-aware and toungue in cheek. Troll 2 is just awful and incompetent.

"OH NO! THEY'RE EATING HER, AND NOW THEY'RE GOING TO EAT ME. AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

Edit: To quote myself from a different forum where someone brought up Tremors in a "terrible movie" discussion (tangentially related):I got the impression that the thread was for technically (whether via script, poor acting, bad direction, horrible effects or any combination of) terrible films that are still enjoyable, not purposefully kitchy films with Michael Gross chewing the #### out of all the scenery. A b-movie isn't automatically a terrible movie, and vice versa. Like, I wouldn't put Bad Taste, Body Melt or Terrorvision on here, because those movies are intentionally the way they are

long time ago a friend of mine owned a video store and he had a lifesize cardboard toxic avenger guy in his basement, that was awesome.

I predict every movie with a 60+ old Arnold in it is going to be terrible.

I've never watched the Toxic Avenger, but I do kind of remember the Toxic Crusaders cartoon. Wasn't bad I guess, but wasn't that good either.
