My first takeaway here is that this is a lot of money for a guy with 58 NHL games under his belt.

Good for Soucy, but that is not a good looking contract in the slightest.

Thankfully this ends the talk of him to the Flames.

Looked like total dog #### in the Play-in. A lot of money for a depth d-man.

I wanted the Flames to sign him but thought it would be something like 3 years at 3 million total not per year

A little extreme maybe but I do agree, he didn't look good out there.

I mean, every single D-man not named "Suter" was putrid in that series for them.

The Wild like to pay to lock up their defensemen. It’s really working out for them, isn’t it?

Soucy is 6-5 and 210. He played 15 minutes a game for 55 games as a NHL rookie with the Wild and was a team best +16 He is 26 years old.

I think that he might have been more pursued on the UFA market than #51

Jamie Olesiak was available as a 26 year old for a 4th round pick ... traded twice for a 4th.
