I am also just not sure how well this is actually borne out by the numbers.
The Oilers added the top UFA forward in the off-season, and are getting a substantial offensive boost from Puljujarvi, and yet they actually score fewer goals this year than they did last season. My suspicion is that this does nothing more than shuffle players around the lineup without much in the way of tangible results.

I’m looking forward to the interview where Kane goes all “pissy” on Matheson!

Of course it didn't come from him, it came from his team mates who wanted him out. Is he new to logical reasoning.
If I'm a team mate on Edmonton, my first problem would be I never get a chance on power play or special teams and I sit on my a$$ while Conna and Drai play half the game. Now you're bringing in another player, an idiot who's going to reduce my time line even more.
And a lot of these players have friends that have played with Kane before, even in a league with 600 players its a small team, everyone knows someone that's played for someone and they're going to reach out and get the scoop a luumpa on Kane. Do you think that they're going to approach him with open arms. Or are they going to be like "I know exactly what you did in that dressing room and if you do that here I'm going to run you over with my car"
Kane has come across in these interviews as dishonest, defensive and trying to spin things. The Oilers don't seem to have a leadership that can probably get around that, and I'm betting there are players in that dressing room that are already in the "I know what he is and F him camp"
Plus how long until Kane another notorious me only one way player joins the this guy scored on my watch club. Looks at the defense and goaltending and starts going into business for himself?
Plus if I'm an Oiler that's not da Conna or Leon, and I see that we're not going to get goaltending help or blueline help because Holland has once again F'd up his cap situation even more, do I just throw my hands up?

I wonder how Kassian likes this? Don’t get me wrong - he’s an idiot who thinks way too highly of himself and his code. But he has also made a big deal of his comeback from addiction and his “good guy/teammate” image. Plus this guarantees no more sidekicking with McDavid any time soon for Kassian.

Kane has played victim every chance he gets. It is great to see that continue today as it proves he has not really learned anything.

Frankly, Kassian shouldnt care. He got an end-of-career contract out of those idiots and all he has to do is ride it out.
He doesnt have to fight, he doesnt have to score, he just has to not do something stupid and see that contract to the end and count his dollars.
He makes $3.2M a year for being a sub-replacement-level nobody.
