Flames @ Kings, 8:30 PM MDT. Sportsnet West, Fan 960
So, the Flames have no Monahan, no Tkachuk and no Gaudreau. What do they have - six more games until the nightmare ends. Tonight they take on the Kings to wrap up the California trip.
So, Mini Me and Scorch enter the Kings' Court and begin their own Reign of Terror. Not content with simply punishing fallen royalty, however, they seek to eliminate what they see as the cause of the Flames' troubles:

Probably the first game all year I'll skip watching without an excuse. None of our top guys playing plus Gulutzan hockey is a recipe for disaster. Hope I wake up to a win but I'm not overly optimistic about it.

This one is gonna be ugly. I have no faith in Gully’s system when we have all our top players playing. Gully’s system with the lineup he’ll be icing tonight? Brouwer will pass out from exhaustion!!

It's strange. It's actually easier to watch the games lately, for me anyway. Maybe because I don't really care when they get ****kicked. Or maybe because a loss might narrow any slim chance the coaching staff won't be fired into the sun.

i know lots of teams end their season like this. But personally i find it embarrassing and if i were a STH - i'd ask the Flames for a refund for the remaining home dates.

Great stats for a team that was making a playoff push. That alone should be enough to fire the coaching staff.

I think it was Kent Wilson (apologies if it wasn't, and I'm paraphrasing here) on Twitter who suggested that the biggest argument for firing the coaching staff may be how they had no answers down the stretch as the team continued to falter. Can't say I disagree.

Corsi was a valid stat, but I think some teams have fallen into the trap of playing for good Corsi and expecting results to follow. It doesn't work.

The team has crumbled but those percentages haven't helped (especially the goaltending, Yuck).
