I had to leave right after they blew the whistle when Pospisil had the open net to shoot at. Was there ever an explanation for why the ref killed the play?

None ... just a bizarre play.

- no penalty
- no hand pass
- didn't go out of play
- wasn't offside

If that was called correctly it would be an empty net goal, followed by a roughing penalty to Lazar.

Just bizarre that there is no effort put into explaining what happened.

Why do the Flames never publicly make an issue of these things?

The Oilers have spent years whining non stop and the result is lots of undeserved power plays. It's gross to watch but evidently effective.

Flames might be doing the professional thing and complaining privately through the league, but that sure doesn't seem to be accomplishing anything.

Yes, the ref said: "because, Calgary"

Glad the Flames won. We counted six clanks off the iron. Two of them came on the same shift!
