The top 10 of the 2020 draft is supposed to be absolutely stacked. Jays will very likely get another cornerstone piece that could arrive in 2 to 3 years.

Jays are actually competing pretty good. The schedule has been just brutal. Series after series against disvion leaders lately. They also only have had only 3 starters in their rotation and they have been rookies mostly. Thornton, Waguespack and Pannone for a good stretch plus SRF as well.

Its actually impressive that they dont get crushed 15 to 5 every game against the Dodgers, Braves, Astros, Yankees etc...

Apparently the Yankees nearly acquired Giles at the deadline. 3 prospects were reportedly going to the Jays. Dunno which ones though.

Giles
Chapman
Ottavino
Britton
Kahnle

Yikes. Talk about racking up the Ks with your bullpen.

Truly a massive year for Nate Pearson. Missing almost all of last season and then this year going from A+ to AAA, pitching in the MLB Futures game, and now going from the 70th to the number 7 overall prospect in BA's top 100.

Impressive to see Groshans make a major move as well despite missing a large part of the season.

Suprised to not see any of Kloffenstein, Kay, or SWR in the top 100 but that is fine. They will make their way into some top 100s by the start of next season.

SWR not making the top 100 is really surprising IMO.

18 year old pitcher in high A with very impressive numbers. Pretty rare.

Well. That was a bomb by Tellez. Can’t wait to see the stat cast on that one.

Crazy eh.

We can thank Edwin Encarnacion for not signing with the Jays and giving them the compensation pick as a result.

Not directly Jays related anymore, but....

Aaron Sanchez having shoulder surgery, done for the year.

Not sure that guy will ever be healthy again.

We didn't. Getting injured was likely, but there's still a thought that if he's healthy and gets his blisters in order he has pretty high upside. He still has more value than the bag of rocks we got. Not sure what the upper/lower case is about though.

Pearson 10, Groshans 54 and Kay 87 on John Sickels’ list of top 100 MLB Prospects on The Athletic.

Oh man Fisher just whiffed on a routine pop fly, just brutal, this was right after Hernandez misplayed a ball in CF which resulted in TB getting a triple. Just misplays and errors you don't want to see your team making this far into a major league season. The biggest question is this: why am I watching this team still?

Fisher has been a disappointment so far for me. Not even going down the rabbit hole that is the trade, it's just tough to see why the Jays loved this guy so much and paid a decent price for him. Can't hit RH pitching, looks below avg in the field and sure he can crush Lefties but at his acquisition price I don't think a platoon OF was the desired outcome.

I'm willing to give him an entire off-season with their program ( I would any player) but the early returns don't give me too much hope he's anything than a platoon guy.

The only reason Fisher hasn't been a disappointment to me is the fact that I never expected anything of a guy who was barely replacement level in the first place. What he's done for us is what he is as a ballplayer.

Fisher's acquisition price was pretty much nothing lol.

Sanchez is terrible the rare moments he's healthy, Biagini is a dime a dozen reliever and Stevenson is a low A lottery ticket with zero power.
