A few baseball picks perhaps not sure yet.

Feel free to fade me...a perfect 3 for 3 day and up a nice amount of units. Will add my NFL picks tomorrow morning but one pick I already have in is Packers (bought 1/2 a point) 3 over the Bears....big play on this game.

Anybody else here that just can't believe there are people that actually put money down on sports select anymore? Is there a bigger con in the world?

Every once in a while you can find value in a parlay. Like today, San Fran is getting 9.5 while only 6.5 in Vegas. I'll likely buy a ticket with San Fran and Jax (getting 8.5 on ProLine).

Managed to grind out a profit yesterday thanks to Hamlin +600 and the Rebels in the late game. Also parlayed Ohio St + UNLV.
(1-2 in posted plays - won't count individual race winners).

Today:

Bengals -4.5
Dallas -4.5
Vikings -4
Dolphins +4

The only government game I play is the TOTO here in BC just because of the payout and the difficulty in it.

Other than that I make my normal bets online because the odds they give are way better.

lol i know. I used to play that a while back when i was stupid and until i found a good offshore account but i laugh at everybody who thinks they can win playing sports select. Listening to the FAN 960 and Mike Richards talk about his picks and how he plays sports select, i just laugh because it's impossible to win and make a profit on a consistent basis playing that junk.

Bit dangerous, not sure the Raiders can score 7 points. I'll take the under

I'm down $20 for the week.

Early lines for next weekend's NFL games:

Oakland Raiders @ Kansas City Chiefs (-3)
Houston Texans @ Tennessee Titans (-6.5)
New England Patriots (-4) @ New York Jets
Cincinnati Bengals @ Green Bay Packers (-9.5)
Minnesota Vikings (-9.5) @ Detroit Lions
New Orleans Saints @ Philadelphia Eagles (-1)
Carolina Panthers @ Atlanta Falcons (-6.5)
St. Louis Rams @ Washington Redskins (-10)
Arizona Cardinals @ Jacksonville Jaguars (-3)
Seattle Seahawks @ San Francisco 49ers (-1)
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Buffalo Bills (-4.5)
Cleveland Browns @ Denver Broncos (-3)
Baltimore Ravens @ San Diego Chargers (-3)
Pittsburgh Steelers (-3) @ Chicago Bears
New York Giants @ Dallas Cowboys (-3)

Games I Like:

Titans over Texans

I like Tennessee's defense vs. Houston's offense. The Titans running game should do enough against the Texans defense to cover the spread.

Jags over Cards

San Francisco got after Kurt Warner and made the Cards offense look pedestrian. Jacksonville has a talented defensive line and a very good young secondary. MJD should be explosive enough to put some points on the board for the Jaguars. The other reason I like this game is because West Coast teams tend to struggle when they have to play the early games out East. Arizona was 0-7 in the eastern timezone last year, and were outscored 239-131.

Bills over Bucs

I think the Bills are going to be out for blood after last night's game. The Bucs offense is anemic, and they're going against a very good Bills defense. I'd expect Lee Evans and T.O. to have big games against a secondary that allowed 353 yards passing against Dallas.

Games I REALLY Like:

Vikings over Lions

Vikings defense vs. a rookie QB + Adrian Peterson vs. the Lions defense. Easy play, IMO.

Ravens over Chargers

The Chargers are one of the most talented teams in the league, but they have an absolute loser for a head coach. I'm not sure how Norv Turner keeps getting coaching gigs in this league. Watching the Chargers fail to move the ball against the Raiders defense that was in pretty basic coverage was pathetic.

Games to stay away from:

Chiefs/Raiders
Saints/Eagles
49ers/Seahawks

Sleeper pick - Rams over Redskins. I like this game as a money line pick or as part of a parlay. It pays out 4 to 1, and the Skins did not look good against the Giants

I like the Steelers over the Bears alot. The Steelers are an excellent road team and the Bears didn't show much on Sunday night.

$50 on Baltimore to win (pays $75)

St. Louis to win
Minnesota (-10) over Detroit

Baltimore to win
Pittsburgh (-3) over Chicago
New York Giants to win

$20 3-game parlay (pays $129.57)

Minnesota (-10) over Detroit
Jacksonville (-3) over Arizona
Pittsburgh (-3) over Chicago

The only thing that worries me is that horrible Steelers offensive line.

That Vikings game bothers the S outta me...Its a divisional game in Det. Divisional games are ALWAYS tight. Even last year when Det was 0-16, the Lions only lost by 2pts and 4pts against the Vikes.

I will take the Lions to cover, and the Over.

As for the Rams over Redskins pick...I honestly wonder if the Rams are going to score an offensive TD all year. The Redskins are a much better team than they showed last week in NYG.

When it comes down to it, Week 2 is the HARDEST week of sports betting. There is so much emphasis paid on last weeks results.

Another interesting game is Car +6.5 @ Atl. The line opened at 2.5, and rose from there, thanks to Joe Public laying massive amounts of cash on the fact that Delhomme is done as a QB.
Even with the 4 pt raise in the line, Joe is still laying 69% of the bets on the Falcons to cover. When it comes down to it, the Wiseguy play is to go against Joe. I will be laying bucks on the Panthers to cover.

For an interesting perspective on things, take a look at the trends:
