I had a friend who was drafted as a pitcher 20 or so years ago and he said every mlb player can hit the long ball. If you leave it there it’s guaranteed to be a home run. He never made it to the majors but knew how good these guys were and sometimes on good pitches when you see mlb players adjust it’s quite amazing.

Gausman and Bassit combined make 39 million, still 4 million shy of Verlander's 43 million. Jays are getting incredible value from that Gausman deal.

Well there was a 3 million signing bonus so technically 42. Still the Jays were really astute on their FA signings this year. Bassitt, Belt and KK have all made big impacts. I still think we’re the second best team in the division. (Right now that is because even if I see the Yanks declining Baltimore has a ton coming up. Their Achilles heel is their SP is not good. Baltimore in a year or two should be the best team in the division)

Also went to the Canadians game a couple nights ago and saw their young SS Kasevich in action and he looks poised to shoot up the prospect rankings. Great contact hitter and made a beautiful defensive play throwing across his body to first. Should be a good one to watch.

Yeah it was awesome to see him get that after two God awful calla on third strikes. Good poised veteran just waits and comes thru in the clutch.

When the Jays are switched on, they're unbeatably good. If only they could sort out their streakiness and get their starters to be a bit more consistent....

Apparently the Jays have been plagued by some sort of bug since spring training. It hits everyone different and instead of just ripping through the team and effing off it just keeps slowly and steadily causing havoc.

Supposedly Springer lost around 15 pounds when it got him. Kirk, Chapman, Keirmaier, Jansen and others have all missed games because of it.

Anywho, the team is looking unbeatable again because the schedule has lightened up a bit. It's amazing how bad playing games against the AL east for almost a month straight will make a team look. They've got some tough ones coming again soon though, Texas has the best run differential in the league and look like they're for real, also Houston, Baltimore again....we'll see how hot they stay.

Can’t say I’m buying this bug theory.

Yeah, we've seen bugs run through sports teams where there's some seperation between groups of players getting it aka: 5 players week one, 5 players week two, a couple more week 3, etc.

But over two months since spring training?
