Ok, so I glanced at the headline earlier and assumed it meant some sort of merger for everyone other than LIV. Wtf.
Even Golf Channel seems caught off guard with absolutely no mention on their website yet, or possibly just extremely pissed after going to war with the LIV on the PGA tour's behalf for the last 18 months.

The only thing I would mandate is they absolutely have to get rid of this 54 hole BS. It is being called a commercial merger, so I am not sure if that means golfers can freely go back and forth like they would between the PGA Tour and the DP, but still- the 54 hole thing is my biggest issue with the format- way more than having no cut.

LIV's entire concept is dead, nothing will be retained from that, no one cared about it. Although you wonder why the Saudis didn't just buy the PGA Tour from the start and saved paying all those bonuses. Hopefully part of the deal is permanently banning Patrick Reed, having him gone from the Tour was unquestionably the biggest benefit to LIV.

I like this quote from a PGA tour player (unnamed).
"It's insanity," the PGA Tour player said. "The LIV tour was dead in the water. It wasn't working. Now, you're throwing them a life jacket? Is the moral of the story to just always take the money?"
LIV will basically cease to exist I guess and will become a PGA tour sponsor. And PGA promises to look into some form of team golf, whatever that means.

I think anyone that went to war with LIV loses a bit, and I would suggest their immediate response will be disapproval, followed by slowly letting it go.
Going to be constantly refreshing Mickelson, Mcilroy, and Chamblee's twitter for the next while until they respond. A lot of the guys that stood up for the Tour are going to feel backstabbed by this I think.

Brandell was a complete loser even before this whole thing, but him talking about the moral superiority of the PGA Tour for a year, only for this to happen, is pretty goddamn hilarious.
